Always very nice to camp there. Great people.

We had sites 47 and 49 both full hookup. The sewer connection which is ok was behind the sites but where you insert our sewer hose from our trailer was at least a foot above ground. We had to go to Lowes and buy 3 10 gutter section and 4 concrete blocks to raise our hose above sewer dump, gravity is what you need. I have pics.On weekends golf carts were driven by teenagers and younger. Some adults drove way too fast also. We try to stay 2 weeks a 2 times a year. We will continue as we love the campground and surrounding area .The above sewer hose could be fixed in about 15 minutes, we talked to camp host, government maintenance staff with them saying they know its been like that forever and they get complaints all the time. I would have thought COE knew about gravity and how sewer system works.

I love USACE campgrounds. Canal is great. Plenty of room between sites. Multiple pods of campground space. Unlike other campgrounds I camped at, this one seems to have a large percentage of semi-permanent campers. The primary recreation for these folks seems to be cruising the campground roads in golf carts. They seem to enjoy this but gas golf carts are a bit noisy and do disturb the peace of bit in such a beautiful place.
