Better access to the water (clear the brush, dead leaves, etc) in the beach loop. The beach is also very dirty - lots of litter there. The rest of the water side along the loop can be tidied up and a path put in to avoid ticks etc for a bit more access to the water and for people who have pets and cannot leave them alone in a tent or a hot car since the beach is not pet friendly.

We camped in a 30’ motorhome. Campground loops were a little tight, but manageable. Best advice, be truthful with length of camper, truck or toad. There is accessible off-site parking. Some sites are more level than others. We stayed in site 63, no problems, but neighbors were a little close. Canal loop is open, and more suitable for larger RVs. Bathrooms were old, but clean. Verizon cell, great, able to stream. If you are into golf carts, this campground is for you, lots of golf carts. Very family and friendly campground. We enjoyed our stay. Kayaking and fishing, great, you have two lakes to choose from, Barkley and Kentucky Lake. Things to do: Patti’s Restaurant, very good home style cooking and fantastic desserts - 6 minutes away. During summer season, reservations, we were told, are a must. The kids would enjoy the visitor’s center, as well as, The Elk and Bison Preserve. Lots of trails for hiking. Walmart, in Paducah, about 30 minutes away.

Beautiful spot. Nice, clean bathhouse. We appreciated being able to buy firewood and to dump our recyclables.
