Love this campground but it does have faults. Grill on one site is still damaged after reporting it last year. Sites still need gravel and can be somewhat muddy during wet weather. Perhaps doing some work to keep gravel in sites. Good camping but could be great.

We have family in the area that have had a rough summer with health conditions, we were able to have them come and visit and relax by the lake that they love. Thank you so much for the beautiful, relaxing time at the lake!

Site 62 is on the water, nice as we brought our kayaks. Sites and roads are paved. Close to both Dams, the information at the dam museum was interesting.

Super nice campground. Of course most COE campgrounds are. It's hilly and our site was a bit tricky to get into but it was all good.

People were friendly, good shower and toilets. Seems like a swimming beach and playground. It was nice to see the lake at sunrise and probably sunset (I got there after dark). Someone had mentioned a fish smell, and it does have a small odor. My site was back-in (which for me is more difficult), but it had a nice view of the water. Decent access to highway about 10-15 min away. I was just staying there 1 night on a road trip to and from other locations.

Great location on the lake. The staff were so accommodating. Wooded sites were clean and spacious. Numerous deer were in the area

The Canal campground is beautiful!The problems are the lake. We like to swim and kayak, the water was muddy and the stench was horrid stemming from the dead fish that floated by every day. We spoke to park attendant and he stated the poor condition of the water had been reportedTo the Corp of Engineers. It was a long drive from our home and we will not choose to visit that campground in the future.

Beautiful park. The camp sites were nicely spaced. Appreciate that they felt private and weren't all crowded together.Enjoyed the elk/bison range and driving many of the forest roads looking for cemeteries.

We camp on the Beach Loop every summer for a week and have for years. Sites are well maintained. Shower/bath facilities are older but clean. Quiet hours/camp rules are followed well by campers. Camp hosts on site and they make a few rounds a day through the campground. The last 2 years the Grand Rivers police made a round a day as well it seems. Beach is clean and easy to get to. Overall we've had a good experience camping at Canal for years now.

Beautiful campgrounds with very friendly staff. Close to the lake with lots of entry points for kayaking, etc. super easy to get to town with lots of amenities.

This is a gorgeous campground, my spot was right on the water and I had all kinds of space between my site and the neighbors. I had enough cell service with Verizon to work off my hotspot.

We had a great experience at the canal. This only disappointing thing is the bathrooms were not very clean.
