Plan ahead because this is a popular campground. The reservation process is easy enough and most sites are level or close to it. Site B29 is our favorite because it's a long site with plenty of room for a 40 foot 5th wheel and truck. It's a short walk to the shower/bath house. That comes in handy if staying for a week because black and grey tanks may fill up before week's end with no sewer hook-up. It's close enough to the water for kayaking or bank fishing. There's plenty of places to eat nearby. We like to eat dinner at the lodge and get ice cream at Nick's boat dock on the way back to camp. Breakfast at Little Dave's is a must. A trip to Rough River Hardware always happens - just to see if there's anything I didn't know I needed and of course fishing lures. We love to geocache - so we're always heading to Hardinsburg and Leitchfield. There's really plenty to do in the area - all you have to do is just go out and do it - if you get tired of relaxing at camp. It's a lovely area and the surrounding country is just as lovely.

Nice campground. The lake was pretty high while we were there. Check your reservation! Lots of fisherman and boats, with plenty of additional parking for boat trailers.Loop B is good for smaller rigs. We fit our 44' toy hauler in site B29 only by backing in from the parking lot. I didn't think we could make the turn that was required in the B loop. The loop for the dump station is also very tight, we used our blueboy to dump rather than try it.

We had a few days to kick back and relax and Laurel Branch was the perfect place to do that. Did some fishing, kayaking, putt putt golf at the state park lodge, enjoyed a few restaurants, walked some trails, and found a few geo-caches. Check in was easy, as usual. If you want to kick back and do nothing but relax, then head to Laurel Branch. If you don't want to be too far from the city life, you're just minutes away from Caneyville, Hardinsburg, and Leitchfield. Come see what Laurel Branch has to offer - you won't be sorry.

We love camping here. The camp host is so good. Park is clean all the time run very well. Bath houses are always clean we go every other week.

Angie said the campground was not up to par . She was being kind: grass not cut . fire rings not cleaned out .heaters in bathrooms not turned on , leaves not mulched up from the fall , at least the trash left over from the winter was picked up ! Gravel not put back in sites . saw dust and debris from tree cutting left everywhere . IT was a Shit Show from the GET GO
