I am so ashamed of this park and corp. Of engineering.! We used to go here on a regular basis for many years it was clean well maintained. We finally found a time we could visits again after being out of state for 5 years. We brought some friends with us who are from the state of Oregon. we told hem how beautiful and clean they kept the park. We arrived at the park the grass was knee high and higher In some places. We were told the park had not been mowed for 2 & 1/2 months. The bathrooms and showers were nasty and not cleaned. We could not even walk down to the cove where we normally would leave our boat due to the grass being so high. we had to pull our boat out of the water every day. They had the nerve to charge our family and friends a fee just to come visit us. They never even used your facilities. Charging is one thing but you cant keep the park up so how dare you. We had yard games we brought and the grass was so high we could not play. The people running the park also would speed in their golf carts along with all the other golf carts you have now aloud people to bring with them. There was no one to patrol people speeding in the park especially with all the kids in the park. I was so ashamed after telling our friends how nice it was. We were there for 8 days and only seen 1 ranger truck come through once a day and that was on the weekend. If the funds are not there to fund the park then this is what you need to due . Increase your fees for camping because people will still pay to camp and charge more for large families. Stop charging for visitors. Charge an extra fee for people out of state to enter into the park. In Indiana at a state park they charge $5.00 feeFor out of state residents along with their site fees. Please dont blame this on COVID because excuse is really getting old.
