The facilities were impeccably clean, the grass was nicely trimmed and the park was in very good order for great spring camping.

We had a very nice time camping at Richie Cove in Council Grove KS. Other than the wind & a small storm it was all great. Had nice spots right by the water. Easy & close for a quick to town for some shopping, ice cream, watch some spring baseball & more. Will definitely go back.

Nice well maintained campground. Would have given 5 stars if there had been a camp host we could register FCFS with.

Nice and shady. Park ranger out and about felt safe.

My husband and I grew up in Council Grove and have spent many hours/days/weeks at the lake there, boating, learning to water ski, sunbathing and picnicking. Now our son and daughter are bringing their children (third generation) to camp at this lake! They are jet skiing, paddle boarding and kayaking enjoying the lake. It is a beautiful setting and one of the few places where you can park your RV or tent waterfront. We have always enjoyed the fact that there was shelters over the picnic areas at the campsites, if a storm blew in or too windy to put out awning, there was a way to get out of the rain/sun!! Now it appears as shelters are aging, they are beginning to be taken down and not replaced! This is so sad, one of the nicest things about the campsites is disappearing! WHY?? These campsites are very well used during the entire season, so is money the problem?? WHY? We know this lake was built for flood control but the shelters were put in place from the beginning so WHY? aren’t they being kept in place?? Please RECONSIDER this action to remove them so our favorite camping lake remains as it was intended to be...A GREAT EXPERIENCE, no matter the weather for every generation!!!
