We Love Recreation.gov. So easy to use! No added fees for making reservations. We have used this Website for camping all over the US. Thank You Recreation.gov!

The camping locations were great, close to beach trail, etc. but both sites that we rented were covered in longjawed orbweaver spiders. They covered everything from the picnic tables, cars, coolers and camping furniture and we would clear everything off and then overnight they would cover everything again.

Since I had a reservation, it was easy just to go directly to the campsite and set up, my name was already on the marker pole. I do wish there was more space for a tent though. Most of the electric sites have campers and cars in mind and lots of hard gravel. I realize there are more suitable primitive sites for tents but I wanted electricity to charge up phones and lights since I was on my bicycle. After walking around the campgrounds, I see there are many wonderful locations. This was my first, but not last, visit to this park. The trail to the beach was a great shortcut from the campgrounds. The bathrooms and bathhouse were both really clean and well-lit at night. I can't wait to camp again.

Lovely, peaceful campsites with great views of the lake. Always really enjoy my time at Bloomington East.

This was our 4th time camping here. We've had great experiences the three previous times, but this time was awful. We had a site near a group of young men (college, perhaps high school age). They were drinking heavily and by 10 PM were very loud (and were playing loud music). I told the campground attendant and they didn't do anything. By 1:30 AM many of the men were vomiting and passing out at their site, others were swimming in the lake (heavy drinking and night swimming- not a good combo). I ended up calling the sheriff. Two officers came out. That caused the to quiet down, but we could still hear them vomiting at their campsite. We ended up getting about 3 hours of sleep with a 700 mile drive ahead of us. As we left in the morning, we could see trash from the men's campsite everywhere. We will look for another place to camp next time we are heading that way.
