Overall, the campground was very nice. It is located 10 miles from the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. We were surprised how empty it was. There were many sites available. There are many pull-thru sites. The loops are one-way, and when you pull in, some campsites have the fire pit and picnic table on the wrong side. There is only ONE place to get water. The water spigots are located by the campground dumpsters.

The camp ground is clean the spots are big enough for big rigs. We booked 4days on line then we moved to the first come first serve Rv spots to stay an extra 10 days to get our truck repaired in Flagstaff. The camp host Steve and Connie were wonderful! Really peaceful here. The park is close to south entrance to Grand Canyon and the little town of Tusayan has a small grocery store Starbucks McDonald a We cook pizza (awesome) plus a few other restaurants! Great place to camp.

Great site near Grand Canyon, with far less people! Lots of shade with tall trees. Nice area to walk or run. Saw several huge elk laying in the camp site!

Gorgeous! We wish we had booked more nights here. Very big, spacious sites (unlike campsites inside GRCA), clean vault toilets, elk wandering around. We couldn't hear any highway noise. Although, we did hear GRCA helicoptors. It was no problem to fill up our camper with water, shower, and do laundry at Mather camper ammenities. (The ranger even showed us where to park the camper while we showered.) It is a short (5-10min) drive to the West Entrance of GRCA and there was little to no wait at the entrance. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to have a trash can near the vault toilet. The only dumpsters are near the entrance of Ten-X/ Tusayan - Montane. We visited the week of/after Memorial Day. Perfect weather. GRCA wasn't too crowded yet.

Amazing campground in beautiful forest! Very close to Grand Canyon village (South Rim) and Maverick airport if you wanna go to helicopter tour in morning. The hosts are very kind. Our apit was prepared. There are no showers and only dry restroom so it is great adventure. There is water tank by the entrance in case you need water to wash your hands, etc. Every spot has its own fireplace and sitting area. There is as well enough privacy since camping spots are pretty far away from one another. We had a great time!

The campsite was absolutely beautiful and we had plenty of space! We did have some trouble finding our site because of some construction. Recommend arriving in daylight. Otherwise highly recommend!

Campsites were very well spaced with wildlife grazing through, wonderful! Close enough to the canyon to just run back and forth if needed, 15 minutes or so. No hookups though.

Our four nights here were quiet, peaceful, and lovely in every way. The campsite (16) was huge and private. Oddly, the picnic tables were on the wrong side of the driveway assuming you followed the one-way signs. But we bring our own tables so it didn't bother us. We were visited by an elk one morning, which was extremely special. While in the area, we spent two days at the Grand Canyon. The weather was fabulous in late May. We also did some geocaching in the national forest outside of the Park. This was a terrific mini-vacation from the heat and hustle in Phoenix.

this was our first time staying at a campground and it was perfect! The campground was easy to navigate, and had great amenities such as a your own fire pit (with a grill), charcoal grill, and picnic table. Each spot also has ample room and privacy. The drive was very easy and direct into the Grand Canyon! Would definitely recommend!

Peaceful and clean overall. A lot of later arrivals at night, probably due to vicinity to Grand Canyon. Overall quiet and well spaced campsitesites. Lots of elk to watch during our visit here. Restrooms were clean first two days, but last morning lots flies and not as clean.

We loved this campground! The bathrooms were clean, water convenient, sites large and spaced well apart. The location is so close to Grand Canyon and it seemed to take 5 minutes to reach the entrance. We met campers that had been coming to this campground for several years. One other benefit was the cost: our senior discount made the sites $5. We understand the price per night will be going up significantly and I regret that, though I appreciate the need to support a Forest Service campground. I suspect we'll stay there again when we next visit Grand Canyon.
