It is a nice, clean, and quiet place located near Tusayan Village, which offers many shopping, hotel, and restaurant options, as well as an IMAX theater experience of the Grand Canyon, just 15 minutes from the campsite. It is a convenient place to camp when no other sites are available at the Grand Canyon South Rim, which is located 20 minutes away.

Lovely place to stay . . . reasonable compared to the Grand Canyon National Park, quiet, spacious, and only a short distance to Grand Canyon Park. We would certainly stay here again.

This is a beautiful campground conveniently located close to the small town of Tusayan and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. We arrived on Wednesday before the labor day weekend and found the campground mostly empty. There are two new loops with gravel roads and sites. By the weekend there were many more campers, mostly tent campers. For RV owners be careful to see if your unit will fit in a back in site. Our travel trailer measures 32' and fit well but I had to park my truck a bit sideways to completely fit the site. The pull throughs were much larger and next time will choose one of those sites. The campground hosts were most informative and friendly. They told us the yellowjacket infestation made camping intolerable in July up to about mid August and many people had to leave however another host who has been coming here for 14 years had never seen this over the top infestation. We did see yellowjackets and did not cook outside as to not attract them but it was not bad. There is water available but is hauled in so RV's are not allowed to fill there tanks but water is available to meet daily needs. There is no dump station. Generator hours are from 7am until 9pm. We used a portable tote tank for our gray and black water and a 30 gallon water bladder. At Mather campground inside Grand Canyon NP you can use the dump station and fill up with fresh water. You are 2 miles south of Tusayan, 4 miles from the NP entrance station, and about 10 miles from the actual rim of the canyon.Besides the natural beauty and convenient location, we enjoyed the star gazing at night, dark so you could see the milky way! We did not see elk but heard them bugling at night. The camp hosts said most tent campers were foreign visitors. The group camp facilities are new and beautiful with great lighting. This is now our go to campground when visiting the Grand Canyon. We camped at Trailer Village inside the park with hookups but you are crammed in close and wow, $75 a night now.
