Windy and exposed, but clean and well staffed.

We stayed here in August 2021. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. We were especially pleased with the cleanliness of the facilities. Even the pit toilets were bright, clean and well stocked with TP. We would have liked a hot shower after a few days of hiking but we knew going in that there were no showers at this campground. We would definitely stay here again.

Demotte campground is in an ideal location. It's 20 miles from the rim and 25 miles from Jacob lake. The altitude is 8800 feet which is nice weather even in August. At mile marker 610 on Hwy 67 the Demotte campground is on your right and a camp store is on your left. Very convenient to get supplies for the RV or fire starters. There is absolutely no Internet or cell service so all you can do is stare into the fire. We had an afternoon thundershower every day so all the smoke was cleared out. The camp host is very nice and delivers wood and information daily. The vault toilets were kept exquisitely clean and provided hand sanitizer and a water source. The Pine and Aspen trees gave the sounds and smells that you so enjoy in the great outdoors. We had a relaxing three days with a little hiking and a lot of just being with nature.

Very nice campground with well spaced sites. Campground host extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. Cleanest vault toilets anywhere! Lots to do any area with beautiful scenery, endless trails and uncrowded access to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

DeMott is a remote location, on a slight hillside, with trees, well-spaced sites, water, and super-clean brick outhouses. It's about 8 miles from the Park entrance. The staff was friendly and helpful. We wish there were more sites like this.

A nice, convenient place to stay if you are doing activities near the north rim or in the forest area aound the north rim. the sites are kind of close and it was noisy with RVs running generators, etc. Allows for trash disposal. Has water and toilets. I would stay there again.

I loved the north rim area so much I don't know where to even start. Demotte was perfectly located! The pastures leading to the towering pines with the the bright Aspen trees mixed within was stunnnnnning. There were supposed be bison in the area but we didn't get a chance to see them, however we did hear an animal late in the night 3 different times, not sure what it was. We Loved the campground, we had a spot just across from the water and restroom, which was clean. The night sky was magical and we saw so many shooting stars. Unfortunately we had no fire wood besides the couple of pieces we had left from staying at the south rim. The camp host was out of wood bundles and said he couldn't get ahold of his wood supplier. All of us camping who didn't have firewood had to scavange the ground for wood, the temperature was dropping, and most were tent campers. That was the only downfall. It was my favorite campground that we stayed at in our 11 day road trip. I think about the area every day, I cannot wait to go back and stay multiple nights.
