Great camping spot with a nice fire pit, bench table and community outhouse. I would definitely camp here again!

Let's try again. First review was droppedCampground is wonderful up on Kaibab Plateau. Located at edge of forest next to large meadow along the main road. High elevation makes for cool nights (we had frost on dry boxes one morning in August). High elevation and remote location makes for wonderful star gazing. We liked the cool weather because we were using the site for staging for our hikes in Grand Canyon National Park. Location is great for visiting the North Rim.Facilities are wonderful for basic, old-fashioned tent campers. Vault toilets are among nicest I have ever experienced and that includes a good number of flush toilet facilities. Having lights come on at night was nice when you are making that midnight run.We found hosts and other guests very pleasant. There was some sort of OHV gathering during our visit which is a different lifestyle than mine. We didn't understand the constant driving the loops. HOWEVER, nobody was excessively fast and traffic stopped promptly at quiet hours. Similarly, no generators were running late at night though a couple did start promptly in the morning. One thing for out of state visitors to take note in the summer. Arizona is physically located in mountain time zone, but doesn't do daylight savings. That means the sun comes up real early for those of you from the CA coast.

Beautiful campground very close to the North Rim. Pit toilets cleaned regularly. Sites have nice spacing and layout. The hosts were great. We had reservations arriving on a Sunday. Since there were many sites open we were able to change sites to a sites better for 2 tents.

Although it's not in the GCNM, it's well located - about 15 miles from the north rim. The sites are decently spaced, some with shade. The pit toilets are immaculately cleaned and maintained, the hosts are friendly. One thing we really enjoyed about this campground was the camp store across the street. They have everything you need, including a great selection of craft beer from AZ and NM. There is also great hiking and easy access to the east rim from this camp ground. I definitely recommend!

Extremely friendly hosts, nicely spaced sites, and the cleanest vault toilets I have ever seen! If you can’t get a site at the North Rim, this is a great alternative, maybe even better.

It was cold October 12. The facility was nice. It had a clean toilet and water available. Had a firepit, but we would’ve used it but were so tired from the hike to start a fire.

Great location for visits to Grand Canyon National Park - North Rim and hiking trails in the Kaibab National Forest. Very clean restrooms. Other campers we courteous and observed the quiet hours (something that we've had problems with at other National Forest campgrounds). It hadn't rained in awhile and the tent area and area around the picnic table were very dusty. There was a nice level tent site, but it was somewhat rocky. You definitely needed a thick sleeping pad if you didn't want to feel the gravel. Make your reservations a ways in advance. We had a hard time finding open dates in mid-October when reserving six weeks in advance.
