Beautiful Camp Ground. Close to the north rim. Quiet and very peaceful.

Tent camped for 3 nights. We couldn't get a campsite at the North Rim so De Motte seemed to be the closest to that. Only about a 30 minute drive to the North Rim, if that. Excellent camp hosts! Area was very clean and well maintained including the toilets. Toilet paper was plentiful. No hand wash stations but hand sanitizer was available. Campers were respectful of the 10pm-6am quiet hours. Only disappointment was the gravel on the tent pad - I really hate that. Spent some time sweeping what I could to the side and was grateful we brought a foam pad to sleep on. There is a gas station across the street. Next door is the Kaibab Lodge which has decent buffet-only meals but dinner stops around 8pm if I remember correctly. There appeared to be hiking trails within walking distance of the campground but we were too busy at the North Rim to check any of those out. Great camping experience. Would camp here again.

The host was great - she even drove our firewood to our campsite and checked on us in the morning! Amenities were fantastic. Bathrooms were very clean for a campsite. My only issue was the noise from the nearby road in the morning.

This was among the best of any National Forest campground we've visited. The hosts were very friendly, accommodating and on top of all things. Bathrooms were spotless, clean-smelling, well stocked with TP and sanitizer and checked/cleaned 4 times a day. The campsites are spread out among the towering conifer trees and there is a sense of privacy. Water needs to be trucked in so Although the campground doesn't have water hookups, the store across the road will fill your camper tank for 25 cents a gallon. Reasonable considering how far water must be trucked in. Very quiet and dark skies.

We love this place. Beautiful sites in the pines and aspens, and close to the North Rim!

We ended up not staying at the site. We were in a different site number our first night because we couldn't get a site for two nights in a row. When we moved to this one, we noticed ants all over the ground in the tent area. I tried spraying for them, but within 10 minutes of putting up our tent, they were in the tent on our sleeping bags. The ground was super rocky and the site was one of the smaller ones in the loop. We ended up leaving a night early because of the ants and we weren't going to be able to sleep worrying about them crawling on us.

The sites are well spaced for the most part with a good mix of sun and shade. The toilets were spotless. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We look forward to a return visit in the fall.

The campground had nice vegetation and adequate space between sites. The vault toilet was clean (we were there when the campground first opened). The hosts were very nice and knowledgable. We enjoyed our stay with the exception of the hail, but it is the North Rim and severe weather should be expected.

Nice campground, convenient to the Grand Canyon North Rim entrance. Clean bathrooms (pit toilets, no showers), good water supply to refill bottles or water for cleaning in camp, flat area to setup my tent, nice picnic tables in each site (I moved mine closer to where my car was parked). Not sure why there were so many cars using the nearby road all night, but you could hear them all pass by. And I think there's a logging operation nearby as I heard chainsaws at 6am - at least it saved me from using an alarm. There are a LOT of first come first served sites here. I had made a reservation ($22 plus $8 fee) but there were plenty of walk up sites the day I arrived (Thursday September 3rd, before Labor day long weekend), but online it was all sold out for days ahead of that. Lesson learned, even though it's a pretty remote place to get to, if you get there early, you'll probably still get a site. The campsite loops kind of wind up the small hill, so you can hear other RV's and their generators until they shut them off (I think it was 10pm), but after that, it was dead quiet. There was ZERO Verizon cell service here. Until I went to the visitor center by the GC north rim, I didn't have service. I think the service was coming from towers at the south rim.

This campground is absolutely beautiful; some sites are pretty far from bathrooms so pay attention to that when reserving, but super close to the park entrance, a small gas station/convenience store across the way that has beer, wine, and other essentials. This campground is quiet and full of nature; we saw deer, squirrels, chipmunks, and tons of birds, even at night the owls were chatting, even though it woke me up for hours; still cool though! Camp on the North Rim; you wont regret it!

Wonderful views. The general store across had sleeping bags, we forgot to bring one for someone. Very clean and quiet, we'd come here again!
