Beautiful scenery, great hiking/nature trails. Nice campsites. We were there on a very windy night. Would go back again if we are in the area.

A beautiful campground with sites tucked in amongst the boulders. The night sky reaches out an touches you! Magnificent!

Loved this campground! So beautiful and such easy access! Unlike the camping areas inside Joshua Tree National Park this one has a bit of cell service which I needed to work. This place also feels and looks like Jumbo Rocks without the drive in or the park fees. We are already planning our next getaway!

Wonderful Campground in beautiful landscape. All campsites have a beautiful view.Only reason for not giving 5 stars: The sites are very close to each other. Some have very limited privacy (if any)

This campground is off the beaten path in the far north of JTNP because it doesn't have a direct connection into the park itself. But that's exactly what makes it an awesome campground! The sites are nestled amongst large boulders, great to climb on and walk through. There are nice nature trails that start in the campground. But you don't have the massive crowds that you find in the middle of the Park. It's heaven! It was quiet and beautiful, without lots of cars driving by or hoards of tourists. The campsites aren't smushed together. There's a table and fire ring, vault toilets. The stars at night were amazing! The surrounding boulders majestic. And the peace and quiet was wonderful. It's only a ~30 drive into the center of the park (use the Oasis entrance to the east for a shorter entry line). This is my campground of choice when visiting JTNP. The other campgrounds get so crowded and noisy that it ruins the peacefulness. When you make your reservation, be sure to check out the picture of the campsite so you can get a sense of how its situation. Each site is different.

Very pretty place.

Very clean and well maintained. If you like the beauty of rock formations with little shade but cool clear star gazing, this is the place for you. Kind of isolated but close enough to City center and restaurants from Joshua Tree area.
