We had a great time tent camping at Indian Cove campground. The sites are compact but we had plenty of room for two tents. The vault toilets were kept clean and well stocked during our four days there. There is no water in the campground but the ranger station just outside had a convenient spigot. This campground is technically part of Joshua Tree but it is not inside the main part of the park. We found this to be a plus. You need to drive to most of the trailheads and sites inside the park anyway, staying out of the main park was quiet and just as beautiful without all the crowds. After checking out some of the other campgrounds, we all agreed that Indian Cove would be our choice again!

The grounds were sloped posing little uncomfortable stay. The grounds were very hard to put any stakes into it.Some portions of the park were closed but not conspicuously informed in the website nor email

Our second two nights in Site 35 were glorious. (Our first nights failure in Site 11 and consolation at Site 21 was frustrating to say the least. This due to the Reserve America reservation system being clumsy and not able to take the data required (type of vehicle, length, etc.) and accurately recommend appropriate sites. Site 35 was perfect for our 25 Sprinter RV with single slide out. We watched the sun set on the boulders behind us and the sun rise on the cliffs and boulders in front. And the stars?!! Amazing!

Absolutely amazing; easy to find, I love the fact that I could just back into a spot and have my camp right next to my car, and the views are outstanding; nothing beats the sky being lit by the moon & stars.

It was hot but it's close enough to go the store and get things you forget. It took me 30 min to get to stater bros and back to my campsite.

Great campsite. I stayed 2 days at camp site 11. This site offers great views and is in a cul de sac so the site is away from the main road.

Great campsite, closely located to the restroom, and a lot of cool rock climbing in the area.

Campsite #11 at Indian Cove Campground is excellent. A rock spire provides shade for much of the day (in October) and it looks out over a beautiful desert vista. There are a few rocky outcrops that are a short hike away.

Be prepared that some sights are very small and not level and may have large rocks. We were in a truck camper and had difficulty maneuvering into our sight and werent able to get level. I couldnt see that in the web site picture. That said - it was beautiful & an amazing experience.

Awesome Campgrounds. No water, flush toilets or showers, but the campground is nestled away amongst the rocks, with campsites well dispersed and most having their own privacy. In my view, the best campsites in the National Park. Shh! Don't tell anybody!

Pros: beautiful area, great spot to see the sunrise (boulders block the sunset for this specific site), amazing stargazing, clean, not far from restrooms, not far from civilization if you need anything last minuteCons: campsites are pretty close to one another and unfortunately the campers at site #12 were being loud until 2am on our trip until we politely asked for them to keep it down and that pretty much ruined our early morning plansOverall I highly recommend!!

Indian Cove is the most amazing campground! My friends and I had an amazing time, remember to pack warm for the nights. Be sure to check out the night sky, it's unimaginable.

Bring tiki torches cut in half if you want a fire. No wood or coal fires were allowed, and putting tiki torches in the firepit gave the complete campfire experience

The campground is well maintained and easy to navigate. The scenery is stunning. If your life is missing deep breaths, you can find them here.
