We mostly just enjoyed the view of rocks and sky. And clouds. The people at the campground were lovely. I enjoyed the lack of cell service unless you walked to one end of the campground. Nice campsites.

This was a great campsite with plenty of room for my crew of 4, spread across 3 tents. Beautiful scenery. Indian Cove has a chill vibe, I liked not being in the park's main drag, no traffic to get to/from the campground.Climbers and others occasionally walked through the edges of the site to scramble/climb, all were polite. I felt bad for the people who reserved campsite 82, which has much less space for tents (and the space isn't flat). Not sure what could be done though, since 83's space is one big sand pad with a picnic table, fire ring, and grill, and it would be awkward to share it with another group.

Beautiful scenery, super cool spot and it was fun to climb around on the rocks behind our site! Only caveat would be is that this site is quite close to the others, we were there in March and our neighbours were quiet so it was fine, but I could see it being an issue if the campground was really busy!

Interesting place to explore, especially enjoyed the various bird sounds.

Site 83 is great for tent camping. Unfortunately, I had a camper. The only area for me to park, was in the street in front of a row of large boulders. Once it got dark, cars and trucks were speeding within a few feet of my parked truck and camper, Getting in and out of my camper, required me to be on the road. Several of the near by campers used large, overhead, very bright lights, late into the night. Site 83 is better suited for tent campers who have access to setting up camp inside the row of boulders.
There were a couple of empty camp (92 and 93) sites close to me that had adequate off, road parking and mov. These sites had more privacy.
Joshua has many other camp grounds I prefer over Cottonwood. However, Cottonwood is very close to the Main 29 Palms Highway for quick and easy trips into town. The rock formations are interesting. The full moon lighting was very dramatic, once I hiked away from the very bright hanging lights of other campers.
