Fantastic campground! Despite not being deep within the confines of the park, you feel isolated enough from civilization to really feel like you're camping -- a feature not included with the Black Rock campground. The large rocks do a good job of blocking your view of Twentynine Palms down below, given that you're at the right campsite.

There's no actual Joshua Trees themselves at Indian Cove but there is plenty of wildlife to find in the area. At Rattlesnake Canyon, filled with water from the Pinto fault line, I saw tree frogs and chuckwallas (big lizards). On the other end of the campground, at the Indian Cove nature trail, I saw a desert tortoise -- a very rare and lucky sight to see! Also spotted in both locations were cottontail rabbits.

Overall a stellar experience and one I wish to have again in the future.

They only have vault toilets here and no water. I almost vomited from the smell. Potable water is available at the ranger station 2 miles away. Also, the campsites are tiny that there is very little privacy. I don't see why some national parks have much better facilities than others when they are all part of the same organization. And JT brings in so much money from visitors, lack of money shouldn't be an excuse.

One of the best camp sites I have ever stayed at. But I have to admit I was spoiled because there we not many other campers, and I felt like I had the place to myself. I appreciate that water was readily available at the ranger station near the entrance. The toilet facilities were nice and clean for pit toilets.

My family and I have stayed at Indian Cove twice now and we’ve loved it both times!!! Thanks for hosting us at such a beautiful campground! Stay safe!

Great weather and a relatively empty campground, even though there were reserved signs on the majority of sites. Strange, because people never showed up? The lack of people, full moon and quiet really enhanced the camping experience of Indian Cove and the Colorado Desert.
