Great camping experience! Perfect large site with a lot of room to explore. Tucked away from other sites! We will be back!

Recent overnight trailer camp at site 13. Clean and well kept restroom nearby. Site has downhill slope so leveling trailers requires some effort. Table and fire pit are not immediately adjacent to the site, a short stroll to the north is needed if you are trailer camping, not an issue if you are tent camping.

Wonderful campground with sites nestled between rocks. Seems more spacious than Jumbo Rocks. Great stargazing!

I recently stayed at Indian Cove Campground, and I must say, the natural beauty was absolutely breathtaking. The rock formations and desert landscape provided a stunning backdrop, making it a photographers paradise. The nights were serene, with clear skies perfect for stargazing. However, despite the scenic surroundings, I couldnt shake a feeling of unease throughout my stay. The campsite felt too open and exposed, which made me worry about safety, especially at night. While I understand that camping inherently involves some level of risk, the layout of the campground made it difficult to feel secure. There was a lingering sense of vulnerability, as if I might need to defend myself from potential threats, whether human or otherwise.Overall, while I thoroughly enjoyed the natural beauty and peacefulness of the area, the lack of a secure atmosphere was a significant downside. I believe some additional measures, such as better lighting or clearer guidelines for campers, could greatly enhance the experience. Despite these concerns, I would still recommend Indian Cove Campground for its scenic beauty and unique desert experience, but with a cautionary note for those who value a greater sense of security.

Definitely fewer rattle snakes than I would have liked. The sign on the bathroom door says if you leave it open then snakes will come, but I saw none sadly. The views are glorious other than that, and despite the site being almost completely full only one generator was running, I was expecting a full on gigawatt power plant of generators.

It can be frustrating when sites are booked but when you go, most sites are empty. Please cancel reservations if you arent going to go so others can reserve and enjoy the site. If sites are booked you can camp on the BLM land just outside of the park.

During a 4 day 3 night stay the campground had numerous groups playing loud music, wandering through other people's camps, flying drones, and driving unmuffled souped up cars around the campground until midnight. One day a commercial climbing outfit even showed up at 6 AM with a moving van and nearly a dozen other vehicles throwing gear around and shouting.

The NPS seems to have zero interest in doing anything to maintain an acceptable experience or enforce rules at all in this compground. The Indian Cove ranger station was not manned a single time despite the ranger sitting right their in an RV the entire time.

This used to be a great place to camp, but the NPS is letting be ruined by rule breakers. Completely unacceptable and sheful performance by the NPS all around.

Beautiful campground with very spacious sites! We were unlucky enough to have some pretty obnoxious neighbors though. Who plays a movie for their kids with volume at full blast at 11pm in a campground??? Rude People that don't respect quiet time rules. However, the facilities were immaculate, bathroom & dumpsters were spotless and conveniently located. Sunset and stars were epic and we were even visited by a family of wild hares.

Nice quiet location. Picnic table and fire pit were too far away from my trailer to actually use. A Boreas XT trailer with truck fit perfectly in the spot.

Nice clean campground, and although the roads are not paved they were well-maintained for a 2 Wheel Drive van to drive down. Also, had great reception with Verizon other than other campgrounds located within the park.

Campground sites were well spaced. No running water, but pit toilets were good. We enjoyed the 49 Palms hike which was a short drive from the campsite, and not far from the north entrance to Joshua Tree.

First time visitor to Indian Cove and Joshua Tree as a whole. Our experience was a very pleasant and enjoyable one, finding our campsite was easy thanks to the well marked roads leading up to the area. The site itself was well maintained and made for a nice home away from home throughout our stay.

Overall our visit to Indian Cove was a very positive experience and we hope to visit again very soon.

It's hard to avoid other people but it is still wilderness and you can get out in it. Bring water and watch out for pokey things.
