Site 9 was in a quiet area just off the main campground road. One could see other parked vehicles but their individual campsite was obscured by native shrubbery and beautiful boulders. There was a reasonable driveway for our minivan where we slept and our grandsons slept in a tent in a small, level space tucked between two boulders. Two hundred feet to toilet and trash bins, all out of sight. Bring your water!

Our site was near others but still had a sense of privacy. There was a restroom and large trash cans near which made clean up very easy. Some cell service from ATT but very weak.

Beautiful location, felt very private most of the time. The rock climbers were just a bit intrusive when they came down as they had to walk through the campsites.

Joshua Tree has been one of my favorite spots for years now but this campground was not great. When we first got there we were pretty happy with the spot, but we were also so dang close to the people next to us and as they snored all night thats all I could hear. On top of that ive never seen one mosquito out here but somehow our campsite was infested and got worse once our fire went out. They were trying to get in my tent all night and the buzzing drove me mad so I ended up sleeping upright in my car which caused me to have 3 hours of sleep. We left immediately in the morning and abandoned the campsite even though we paid for both nights. We had a nice souvenir, 30 plus mosquito bites each. They attacked us immediately upon waking in the morning, this was an awful experience.

Restrooms and campsites were very clean, campground was quiet because of proximity to the rest of the park. Lovely campground with lots of rocks for climbing and a lovely nature trail.

I enjoyed my campsite overall, but I would have preferred a campsite with easier access to the actual national park. While this campground is a part of Joshua Tree National Park, most folks need to leave the area and drive to one of the gated entrances to access the majority of J Tree. This was not a big deal for me, but could be for someone staying longer and not realizing that this is more park-adjacent as opposed to the sites within the gated areas. But if you're looking for a beautiful place to camp, surrounded by the awesome rock fixtures and under the night sky, this is a great option.

We stayed at Site #9 and had a wonderful time. There were some empty spots around us so we went over to another site for stargazing. The morning views were beautiful with the sun coming up over the mountains. Staying just outside the park worked for us, as we were able to drop our things and then head back out for firewood, plus we were right in between the West & North entrances, so we went in different ways each day and got to see different things. We drive an EV and the nearby supercharger was perfectly located for heading into the park on day 2. We would definitely stay at Indian Cove again.

The rock formations are amazing to camp among - and they provided welcome protection from sun and wind! An amazing place to visit. Only comment would be directed at some fellow campers with boomboxes and such. But that is life in a public space. If you have a camper or van, bring some extra blocking to level out. I needed a couple of 2x6 plus ramps.

Excellent layout of campground. This is a much quieter part of Joshua Tree than most of the other campgrounds.

I originally had reserved site 98 for a 24' RV.It was tight at best.I tried to change my site reservation after 2 nights in # 98 via this website and the reservation.gov phone line but was unable to make the desired change. With the help of the on site ranger, Dave, I was able to finish my stay in site 09.That worked out much better. All in all a great expertience.

The camp ground was in a good spot. Easy access to either side of the park and it was secluded enough that the holiday weekend crowds didn't bother me at all.

Quiet. I slept on my pic nic table so I could see the night sky. I really needed that feeling of being small but a part of something big. The sunrises were perfection. The desert is always lovely!! Thank you.

Awesome campground with spacious and clean spots. Splendid views and wildlife all around. Super close from main road, convenient to travel around and drive through the park. Nearest town is 2 miles away with markets and restaurants.

We stayed at the Indian Cove camp site number 9. We were so excited and surprised at the location, the view, so perfect. You have other campers around you but somehow you feel like your in your own world with a little piece of heaven.
We pulled up to find a picnic table, fire pit and grilling station.
Thank you Joshua Tree for an exquisite experience, we will be coming back!!

Indian cove is my favorite place to camp at Joshua Tree. You are nestled into the boulders and rock walls which is especially cool if you are a climber! The amenities of fire ring, charcoal grate grill, and picnic table are much appreciated. In addition, you don’t feel cramped in the space.
