Great campground, a lot of camp spots are not even close to being level. If that's not a concern then all the camp spots are great.

This is a beautiful campground with sites nestled in the boulders and rocks. Our campsite was a little way from our parking spot. We didnt realize that it was a park and walk. It all worked out and was worth it to spend our first night under the stars.

You need to walk a short distance from the parking area to reach the campsite. The site is compact and tends to be crowded, as its located close to neighboring campsites. However, its conveniently situated near the bathrooms.

Secluded and perfect little cave. One spot away from a solid climb.

Campsite was a four stall parking area, with a short walk to the fire ring and table. Great for tent campers but not for someone with a RV, which I have and that I indicated when I made the reservation. Pictures of the campsite do not accurately show what to expect when you get there.Bad camping experience for me.But the ranger at the check-in station understood my concerns and was able to move me to a site that was more suitable for my RV.

My favorite campground of all time but this time the 47 mph winds tore up my sun shade and tent and broke the poles.

I showed up to other people's tents and gear in my campsite, but no people around to speak with. It was already evening time when I got there. I waited for an hour and nobody showed up. I went to the camp host and he didn't know what to do. I suggested that he might have another campsite he could offer me. He did, and when I went to that one there was a random vehicle parked in that site's only parking spot. There weren't people or gear at my site or the ones near it, so I had no idea how to find the owners of the vehicle. It was nearly dark and I wasn't in the mood to keep dealing with the situation so I went home grumpy.

Had 2 nights booked in Joshua tree. Both days I showed up with people in my spot. The people were not present when I arrived, they just left their camping gear so I couldn't tell them to leave. So I wasn't able to set up camp myself. Luckily a park ranger gave me another camp site the first night, but when it happened again the second day I just left and found a free camp site in San Bernardino national forest. Pretty park but poorly run.

We didn't end up staying here. Unfortunately, there isn't parking directly next to the site, and the parking lot is a good walk from it you aren't able to see your car/camper when at the actual site, since it's around some boulders. Since we were there with a car camper, we wanted our site set up to be directly next to our car. Would be great for tent, camping though. We ended up just going to the park itself and were able to find a site that didn't require an advanced reservation.

Great and unique campground with some rock formations that are great for bouldering. Its worth noting that some of the spots (e.g. 99-100) are not adjacent to the road and require you to carry your stuff approx. 30 yards from car to site. Also, while I would recommend this site to anyone visiting Joshua Tree, its not connected to the rest of the national park. You have to leave the campground and re-enter the park at a different entrance to visit everything else.
