What a fabulous way to wake up on Christmas morning - a beautiful sunrise bathing the rocks with warm golden sunlight! The site was plenty big enough for 2 x 2 person tents and the wood fired grill, firepit and tables and benches were perfect for that early morning brekkie and a dinner under the stars. The Great Horned Owls hooting back and forth was awesome! Loved it - great job NPS!!!

Site 73 was lovely. Very sheltered. I was worried about winds, but they weren't a problem. Two small tents fit at either side of the site. Unfortunately prior campers had urinated in some of the corners. This made for some unpleasant odors which limited tent placement but not general use of the site. Hopefully the smells will dissipate before you camp. We enjoyed the 49 Palms Oasis hike and the stroll out to the Wall Street stamp.

LOVE this campground! Was nice that it was so close to town. Water is also very close- about a 2 minute drive down the road to fill up. Amazing rock climbing and scrambling right in the campground. Clean bathrooms and campsite overall. Was a little worried about the size of our campsites #73 and #74 due to previous reviews, but they ended up working out perfectly. Fit 2 large vehicles at each site and plenty of room for tents. #73 had a spot for a very large tent and room for a medium sized tent also, and #74 had room for 2 medium sized tents. Nice large picnic tables at the sites and room for all our stuff! Beautiful rocks you can scramble up right behind both sites.Tip- cute little mice come out to play at night so be sure to keep food secured in bins/coolers!

The Indian cove campground is a very popular camp site. All sites were sold out when I was checking for the availability. When I saw one site (73) suddenly opened, I reserved it. So if you want to get a spot, keep checking even if all sites are booked because a sudden cancellation can open up a site. My location was very nice. There were many rocks behind the camp site. There was a trail entrance in walking distance from the camp site. I like the Indian cove campground because it is close to the entrance of the park. And there are lots of rocks in the camp ground. This was my third stay in this campground. It was full Moon on the day. It was very bright night. You could still see many stars. After packing everything, I stopped by at Joshua tree coffee shop. They have a good espresso. It can be hard to book a site for weekend, but it definitely worth to put effort to reserve one. There was limited 5G connection in the camp site, though I thought it is nice to disconnect from the internet some times.

We had an amazing experience at campground 76. Our daughter was just so happy scrambling around and finding special spots to hang out. There was a mixup where someone was at our site and we were lucky enough to see ranger Tyler nearby as we were checking in. Tyler sorted out the problem quickly and kindly and placed us in a site without disrupting the other folks experience.

Nice smaller campsite, you will have a fairly close neighbor (within earshot) but it's a nice location right next to some rocks. Could fit two normal size cars, not sure if two vans or larger cars would though. Bathroom is a short walk away.

Great location, the campground was clean and spaces were well spaced out. There were not too many families and the bathrooms were clean.

Great campground and gorgeous setting. Sites can be a bit on the small and close-together side depending on which one you have but overall it was comfortable for a single vehicle and 1-2 tents. Easy access to primitive toilets as well as trash and recycling dumpsters (separate place for propane canisters as well). Site was clean and potable water was a short drive away at the ranger station if you accidentally forgot to refill before going to the campground.

Site was great besides the lack of noise control enforcement. Sounded like a concert from multiple other campsites blasting off into the night.

Best night sky that I've ever seen on land. You could see the milky way from one end of the horizon to the other side. There had to be at least 100 shooting stars as well. I am coming back later in the year.

Our sites were 73-74 and friends had 7 1and 78. They were nice sites, but no shade and it was very hot. Other sites had better shade.

It's Indian cove! Pits are clean and there are friendly folk about. It could only be better if it was free.
