Just a quick overnight for Valentine's Day with my wife. Clear skies made for great stargazing. A couple of quick hikes made it even better. Site is small but more than enough for a couple. Tucked tight into rock face keeps you protected from any winds. Would definitely return.

Love this location and spot! Weve camp at this same location twice already. This specific spot is on the smaller side. Enough space for one tent and one car thats it. The parking spot is leveled to car/truck camp.

Very cool campground. The kids loved playing on the rocks. The adults did too.

We camp quite a bit and this is really a special place - probably our favorite. The campsite itself backs onto a beautiful rock wall. The campground was quiet and we spent hours at the nearby amphitheatre in silence with no one around and it was serene. We fit our 6 person tent with no issues on the campsite. Beautiful spot.

Beautiful scenery with the large rock formations. Each site we had feelt private and not too close to our neighbors.

Campsite is really cool being in all the rocks. You do have to go out of the campsite and drive to a different entrance to get into the main park so its not super convenient for exploring the park. This campsite in particular was on the smaller side, we only had 1 2-person tent so it was fine but just be aware depending on how many people you have. It was also pretty close to the other campsites so really dependent on your neighbors. Similar to other reviews Saturday night seemed to bring a lot of parties and there was one group in particular blasting techno music which kind of killed the vibe of being in nature. Wish campers were more cognizant of others but I feel like it might just be the nature of it being so close to LA and more of an easy access for people then other campsites in the park.

Awesome campsite! Not too far from the main entrance, super clean surrounded by amazing rock structures. Pretty close to your neighbors but that was never an issue. Would recommend.

Going to Joshua Tree is always a great experience because of the views and our ability to take scouts and set up climbing and repelling activities in the campsite.

Beautiful campground. The office is never open. I am sure someone works in this campground but we never saw them.

It was great experience to us that nice place, feel safe and private also clean. One of the most special experience was telescope free service that night.Friendly introducing by star marker Aunt she gave us star stories by strong laser pointer it was awesome. There were 4 telescopes and each part showed to our family each stars each scenery. I will never forget of dead star it similar like golden ring and Saturn it have ring out side.. It was first time to my kids and me as well.Without telescopes Our family also could see the milky way and many times of shooting stars.Whenever I have time or want to see that kind of star I will visit again with my family and friends.Thank you for park superintendent~ Thank you again the telescope teams~ God bless you

Great camping experience. Clean campground. Clean restrooms. Feels like youre in the middle of nowhere but town is only a few miles away with everything you might need if you forget something.

Number 58 is a great campsite.1 tent only as it is small. But the rock formations around it are amazing, plus they provided shade all day.

The campsite was excellent. Honestly, I could not have asked for a better spot; the evening skies were awesome too. One glitch, the bathrooms were not good. As a side note, this was probably due to the large group of campers who did god knows what Im them.

Perfect campsite! No running water and has a compost toilet, but very quiet even when the area was full. Beautiful rocks and felt very cozy with the desert brush and the rock pile behind our site. Would definitely recommend! It was a little out of the way from the main park entrance, but it was almost nicer that way since it was just campsites and had no traffic.

Site#58 at Indian Cove had beautiful views, a backdrop of breathtaking boulders, clean nearby bathrooms, great fire pit and grill. However, the campsite was so small that the only spot level enough to pitch a tent was already claimed by our neighbors to the east, forcing us to pitch our tent in the flat parking space next to our RAV 4. I would recommend placing smaller mini boulders along the east side of this campsite to separate it from the neighbor. We did this when the neighbors left as a hint for the next campers. Indeed, the next campers pitched their tent far away from ours, as the neighboring site was large enough for 3 tents.Logistics aside, we were thoroughly enchanted with Indian Cove. Quiet, beautiful, very little traffic, and close to amenities. The nature trail was spectacular, the trek around the expansive campgrounds provided endless chances to see rock climbers at their best, and the full moon was so bright you didn't need a flashlight at midnight. We then ventured out to the 49 Palms Desert Oasis for a vigorous hike and were awed by the beauty. Drove back by the The Indian Cove Market on 29 Palms Highway and bought lots of inexpensive firewood, more wine LOL, and a few other basics we needed for our 5 day stay. Indian Cove is closest to the Twenty Nine Palms gates, which are less crowded with shorter entrance lines than the West gate near the Joshua Tree Village. We go to JT twice a year but had never camped at Indian Cove. We will definitely make it a destination again.

Would have rather been 'deeper' into the campground so farther away from traffic. As it was, a good site.
