Site 57 came with its own cave, helpful as a shelter when it hailed! Almost all sites built into the rock formations in a unique way. The pit bathroom was as clean as possible with lots of TP. Lovely sunrise and sunset over the rocks. Remember to bring your own water and dishwashing set-up.

Awesome place to camp. Its just outside the park and next to Twentynine Palms. We were able to visit the park for most of the day and returned in time to set up camp and hike around for a bit. The campsites are a bit more spacious than those inside the park.

We loved Joshua Tree - 49 palms oasis hike, Discovery/Skull Rock/Split Rock trail, and driving through the park to see all the Joshua trees and rocky formations. Indian Cove offered a nice place to see stars and spend the night!

The campground is very nice and has access to great rock climbing. All sites are reservable and will likely be reserved. However, most sites will be unoccupied. I do not understand what is going on here. The day I stayed the campground was full (thankfully I made a reservation), but in reality fewer than half the spaces were ever occupied.Please don't make a reservation unless you actually plan on using it.

What a lovely spot! The towering rock formations are so majestic. The site offered a shady cove for the afternoon and was sheltered from the wind. The night sky was spectacular. We loved walking around the camp - the mix of jagged rocks and desert plants are beautiful.

My overall experience was a great one! The one thing that I struggled with was that it was my understanding that Indian Cove had potable water. There is no clear direction as to where it is located, however next to the ranger station at the entry next to the covered parking I was able to find a water spigit where I could put water in my camper. It would be great if this could be more clearly marked.

Great spot with lots of shade and a quick drive to all the best spots in Joshua Tree. Also, there was a free astronomy class that was quite interesting and fun! All in all, I would definitely come back, it was a clean and easy to navigate campground which felt very safe.

Really beautiful campground! All campers were very respectful and nice. Sites are a really good size, and provide enough space between you and the other campsites. A rock-climbers paradise! 10/10 would recommend and we will be coming back soon!

Neighbor campers played amplified music til the late hours. No rangers or hosts available to monitor/remedy the issue.

My girlfriend and I camped at Indian Cove for one night. We chose to camp in this spot in Joshua Tree because we were looking for some rock climbing routes (specifically, sport routes). We were able to find the area we were looking for after some searching, and got some good climbs in. One thing to note about climbing around this campground is that it can be difficult to find the climbing areas you are looking for--some areas are marked with a sign, others are not. Similarly, some areas have parking near them, others do not. Similarly, some areas are strictly not allowed for parking, but others are. My main recommendation to the campground would be to clearly mark areas where parking is and is not allowed, as I found there was ambiguity on this (while we drove along the roads within the camp area).
