I got locked in the bathroom from the inside and a ranger saved me. 5/5 stars for the ranger. It was over 95 degrees outside (around noon time) and the inside was hotter. Had he not been passing by and heard me banging on the doors, it would've been a dangerous situation for me.

I wanted to love this campground, but there isnt a host and youre on your own entirely there. Normally fine, but its accessed from the highway, not passing a park entrance station, so anyone can go in. Squatters abound. Hopefully you have a better experience than I did; its a crapshoot as to who shows up. One guy was blasting music with bass so loud it was ricocheting off of the rocks. I was able to find a spot of cell service and change sites, thankfully (because nobody was around to help, and I didnt feel safe asking him a second time to turn it down!). The back up spot was quiet at first, and then neighbors there started playing music and letting their dogs bark and howl. Ugh. At least they werent quite as loud as the guy before. I bailed on my second nightthis is my least favorite kind of camping, and its not relaxing. I wish there was a host.

Amazing experience! This location is great and we were able to climb up the rocks for a view of the area! Firepit and grill available and great area for tent. The car is right on the site which is great for accessibility

Had a wonderful time, the campsite was clean, other neighbors were quiet and polite. My husband and kids loved rock climbing. Skull rock was a 15 min drive from there. Desert nights are the best. This campsite had nice shade by 4pm.

One of the best campsites I ever visit! Very clean, and the whole campsite is protected from the wind by the surrounding rocks! Would love to come back!

Overall we had a good experience. The group next to up kind of overflowed into our site, so it would help to better delineate boundaries or buffer zones between group sites. Sadly we had a camping stove stolen off our table while we were out hiking. Exception not the rule, but frustrating. Also tour busses seem to use the group campsite road as sort of a "free ride" to see Joshua Tree since there is no entry fee. We saw two busses of elderly tourists drive down the road around the loop and back out. Weird.

My stay in Indian Cove campground was phenomenal. The toilets were well stocked with TP, the trash wasn't overflowing, and the other campers were respectful. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

Pros: Pleasantly surprised. Although there was no running water at the campsite, the ranger station nearby had water. Pit toilets were not as bad as we feared. Campsite was spacious with a lot of flat room for our large tent. Rocks and shrubbery provided some privacy from neighbors. Beautiful location in a beautiful National Park. Nature trail was fun!Con: Posted signs about Covid stated pit toilet would be cleaned several times a day. We never saw anyone clean it, and after three days of seeing the same (apparently clean) toilet paper on the ground, I cleaned it up myself.Advice to others: Be prepared for wind. Choose a campsite with the right shade/sun for the time of year. Bring an Easy Up if needed to provide shade in the warmer months. Our site didn't have shade till late afternoon, and we hung out in a neighboring reserved (but not yet occupied) shaded site for about an hour awaiting shade in our site.
