It was really hot (July), and we disturbed a red ant nest, but otherwise it was great. LOL. We brought plenty of water. We were in site 33. Really nice, high rock face - provided some shade almost the entire day. If you can manage the heat, July is a good time to be there - very quiet, not a lot of other campers. We walked out the Indian Nature Trail to watch the sunset - very picturesque.

The campsite was beautiful and clean. The sky was amazing. The bathrooms/pit toilets were clean. Almost all the other campers were respectful, peaceful, and kind. Unfortunately, two teenage/young adult campers next to me made the experience pretty rotten. What a way to ruin what in all other ways was the most wonderful, magical experience at a gorgeous campground. That being said, it was a great location to hike the Boy Scout Trail.

Our first visit to Joshua Tree was unforgettable and primarily due to our stay at Indian Cove. Sleeping among the stars and the large rock formations was amazing. Some spots were a bit too sandy for staking down a tent, especially during the extreme desert wind, but there were plenty of other rocks available to use to weigh down our tents. Overall an amazing visit and would definitely come back.

Such a great site, private, secluded by both rocks and brush. Restroom is a hundred feet away in both directions. Will be back!

For reasons that were not at all clear, there were dozens of sharp rusted nails scattered throughout the site in addition to broken glass. The site was very exposed and windy. We have two young children, we decided to go home instead of spending the night. We did not feel safe with all of the broken glass and nails.

Awesome campground with rocks to shelter. Only thing is it's not connected to the rest of the park, but there are trails connected to the campgrounds.

This is a beautiful campground close to a fantastic nature trail and amongst gorgeous rock formations. I stayed in site #33 and enjoyed the peacefulness & serenity. Restrooms were clean and plentiful and my neighbors were not too close to me. The only minor drawback was this site is not too level and has a slope to it. I slept in my car so I'm not sure if the slope would be in the tenting area. If so, it would not be too dramatic of a slope.

Nice quiet spot - site 33. Good solid concrete picnic table, good fire pit. Enough flat space for a tent. Vault toilets were clean and plentiful.

Went with a larger group so we booked sites 32 and 33. Lots of space at each site, and amazing backdrop with the rocks. Really quiet. Loved that these sites were across from no other sites, so we didn't have to see lights or hear noise from other campers. Very close to the toilet as well!

It's pretty hard to put into words how incredible Indian Cove is, and even harder to describe how lucky I felt to spend 3 nights at the campground. I've camped all over the world, and this was easily one of my top 5 of all time (which is not an honour I bestow lightly!) While Joshua Tree in itself is special, Indian Cove was the highlight itself: slightly more secluded, spacious, and no shortage of rocks to climb. Compared with a few nights spent at Jumbo Rocks on the same trip, Indian Cove was the real winner - you will have a hard time being disappointed here! Just keep in mind there are no showers and that water is a 5 minute drive away - but hey, a small price to pay for such an incredibly unique part of this planet!

Parking in Site 33 was too sloped for cooking and sleeping in our Roadtrek van but we managed.

Site 33 was awesome! Quiet and tucked away. Campground was completely full but was still peaceful and enjoyable. Would definitely come back to camp here.

Love the way this campground is laid out between and along the rocks. The sites are lovely and appreciated the signage. Only challenge for us was that the area where we could park in or near our spot was so far from level, that we had trouble finding a spot to park that was level enough for us to be able to sleep. We were spot 33. There was barely even a level tent spot in the site.

Love it! We reserved 2 spaces (2 families) but because it was too hot in the afternoon we ended up stayed at site 39. It had some shaded area to rest in and more as the afternoon go by. It was smaller than other site we drove by. But because it was the last site on the lot, we only have one neighbor to our right and the whole open space to our left. Plenty of rocks for kids to climb on. The night sky is full of stars. My 9 years old son love it so much and ask us if we can go back. If you want to use your phone please climb a few rocks up!

This was my second time at the same site, 33. Its by far the best site in my opinion. Cannot see neighbors to the sides. Nothing but a mountain in front and huge rocks behind you. The sunrise and sunsets from there are unreal. Plus the rocks provide an area to shower using a shower bag without being seen. Some bees in nearby bushes, so I ate all food inside tent and kept all food in the trunk of my car. I will be back!!

Will definitely return. The 30d site are al amazing. 31 is a fav, but i stayed at 33 and loved it. More secluded and quiet than youd think. Views were amazing. Did get windy at night sometimes. So prepare for that.
