We were in loop B @ 18B- the fire pit is to close to bushes thought this was a hazard, really close to neighboring tents, no lights in the womens restroom, and the noise levels were very high. Kids running and screaming. We stayed on a Saturday night. It did make it so we could stay in the southern part of the park though.

A beautiful campground and we loved our stay here. There are great hiking trails right from the campground. We loved watching sunrise and sunset right from the campground.

It was too windy to hike or even cook at the campsite the day I arrived and the following day. 3rd day was my last day and it was fortunately beautiful sunny day. I took Pinto Basin Road all the way to the Park Headquarters and it was a beautiful drive. I plan to be back to hike the trails off Pinto Basin Road next year. If the weather forecast says windy, expect it really will be windy.

Excellent campsite. Clean toilets, access to water. Sites are roomy, and other campers were not too noisy. What is so good about this spot that at the end of the day and in the morning you get the beautiful drive through the park to visit the Joshua Trees. It was quite chilly at night but we were prepared.

You need a two day stay to fully enjoy Joshua Tree National Park. Cottonwood Campground was a great place to stay. Very quiet except during the 3 allowed RV generator periods. Bathrooms were clean and Ranger staff were visibly present.

The campsites are very well maintained, clean and managed nicely. Two bonuses about this location: one is the ride from Mecca thru Box Canyon. The other is that the Chiriaco Summit is only a few miles away, where you can get firewood, food, etc.

We had an excellent experience at Cottonwood Campground. The sites were well maintained and the restroom facilities were clean and quite extensive considering how remote the campground is. Some of the wayfinding for the hiking trails around the campground was a bit difficult to follow, but otherwise we would highly recommend both Cottonwood Campground and Joshua Tree National Park, thanks!

I have a camper van. I do believe the sites were created for tent camping. I had a nice site with a blooming creosote bush. I had "fun" trying to level my van. Nice to have flush toilets for 2 of my 4 nights in Joshua Tree. Very convenient to hiking. I was able to walk from my site and hike the Mastodon Peak Loop including Cotton and Cottonwood Springs. I also enjoyed the Ranger evening program in the amphitheatre.

Not as spectacular as the other sites we stayed at in Joshua Tree. Good site though.

This is a fairly open campground with no boulders that you find in other Joshua Tree campgrounds. So, all noise from your neighbors travels far. Some neighbors seem to be totally unaware how loud their voices, and their kids' voices, are and how far they travel. However, there are flush toilets (other campgrounds have vault toilets) and the stars at night are amazing! This campground tends to fill up last since it's pretty far away from the center of JTNP. But it's near the south visitor center and is a ~30 minute drive into the center of the park.

Great campsite. Sites are closer together than I thought. Bathrooms were immaculate. Get an early start because most of the hikes are in the interior part of the park. The oasis hike near the campground was worth it. Go early. The parking lot fills up.

Tightly packed. Also location is not convenient to getting to the rest of the park.

I was able to fit my 19' fifth wheel trailer into one of the back-in spots. Larger rigs were parked in the spots along side the B Loop. The campground did not have too much trash and the bathroom was clean. The double dump station was easy to use. Overall it was a nice and convenient campground.

Very clean site. Only recommendation is you arrive before sunset to properly identify your site parameters.

The stars were amazing, bathroom was clean, and good camp space.

Our sites were very spacious and just close enough to the restrooms without being too close. There is little to no shade, so be wary of that if you think it will be an issue. Some sites are much larger than others and I don't think the website map conveys this well. Out of the 3 sites we booked, 1 of them was as large as the other 2 combined even though they were the same types and cost.
