Someone stole my campsite and I could not camp. The site was clearly marked as reserved as all others were. They refused to move and there was no one to contact at the visitor center and there was no camp host. I decided not to call 911 and left to avoid a potentially violent confrontation in a remote are. You should not sell campsite reservations if you cannot enforce the rules.

Good change of pace at JT. It's a more secluded campground and based at the SE part of the park. So the entrance is off I-10 instead of having to climb to a higher elevation to enter at the main gate.

The park was nicer than we expected. Pristine toilets. Very quiet.

Campsite was way too big for me and my little tent. The coyotes serenading the campground every night was nice.

Great campground. Clean restrooms and dark sky site. Only issue was it was super cloudy the night we stayed. We would definitely stay here again.

It was nice to have flush toilets but the sites were very close together so there was a lot of noise from other campers.

We were camped in sight B 15. Our RV is only 24 foot long. We did not put our slide out out and still almost got clipped by a truck pulling a fifth wheel. We attempted to find the camp host to cancel the 2nd night but could not find them after walking both loops. Tried to cancel at the Cottonwood Visitor Center but told to call. Not possible without cell service. Eventually got a refund after going to the 29 Palms visitor center. Park was l beautiful, service not good.

Lovely clean, quiet site. Can hike Mastodon Peak or Lost Palms Oasis direct from the campground.

It's 2025... interior of restrooms should have motion detector LED lights. I respect the need for non-obtrusive lighting in the desert. Also find the parking lot curbs are unnecessary tripping hazard since there are no lights outside either. Maybe painting hi-vis yellow?

Well maintained campground with a beautiful night sky. Also is the trailhead to some great hikes. Would definitely revisit next time we visit JTNP.

Not having anything to reference our stay at the campground was great. Sites were nicely spaced. And plenty of camp sites around the park. Beautiful lagoons, hiking and biking trails abundant. Nice clean bathrooms. Really close to town. We would definitely book again in the future. Thumbs up for this campground.

Great campground there is a restroom and drinking water available. If you are car/tent camping a shade shelter is useful as there is no real shade from any trees or brush here. Usually a cool breeze comes through in the afternoon.

Our campsite, B-15, is on a curve and not properly described by ReserveAmerica. It is not appropriate for a 5ht wheel with slide outs but there are plenty other sites that are.Thank goodness we had an accommodating ranger as the staff has not way to help with reservations. That is wrong.

The site B-15 is open a curve and inappropriate for rigs that have driver side slide outs .. This should be put into the description as it caused a lot of trouble and a possible citation for road blockage

Quiet and private campsite with water about 1 hr drive from the other campgrounds. I liked that the site wasnt near any features that may lead to other visitors walking through my camp

We stayed at Cottonwood in hopes of a successful evening of Stargazing. We knew the moon would be up so we were looking before it started to rise. The campsite was clean and had parking. We plan on returning- for a New moon and look forward to a fire in the firepit.

Great views. Great hikes from the campground. The parking space for each campsite (at least in Loop B) is extremely limited. Large vehicles and trailers are challenging to fit because they partially block the road. (The sites were designed for car + tent.)

We had site B15 and it was what I hoped it would be, just on the edge of the desert. This campground is quite near the trailhead for Cottonwood Springs and the visitor's center. The bathrooms have cold water only, are not heated or lit. There are garbage and recycling bins on the road into the campground. Our site was not level, even using our largest levelers. It was scenic and remote and nearly every site was taken, even in December. Make your reservations EARLY!

Nice campground, clean restrooms, not crowded on on a Monday in October, less than half of the sites occupied. Only problem was as I sat down to watch the moon rise the trailer next to me started his generator ruining my enjoyment of the evening, This was the fourth time in the past month of camping that generators in the evening have severely degraded my enjoyment of nature, The Park Service needs to make generator hours in the afternoon. Its time to phase out generators in campgrounds. If you can afford an expensive trailer or motorhome, you can afford a solar charging system, and spare the rest of us the noise and air pollution. At a minimum generator use should only be allowed in certain parts of a campground and those sites labeled on recreation.gov so that those who wish to enjoy nature can avoid the noise and pollution.
