The website for making Reservations is a bit wonky. Navigation through the site is not user-friendly. Make it easier.

For the most part the sites were fairly private - which is difficult to accomplish in the desert.

Nice campsites, lots of space, great stargazing! About a 30 minute drive away from the main attractions in the park. I liked staying at this campground in a quieter area, and visiting the busier parts of the park during the day.

Stayed in Loop B #15 and loved the wide-open spaces. It was near the hiking trail but had complete solitude at night.

Come here yearly and it never disappoints, beautiful views, large sites, clean bathroom, friendly staff, always a perfect trip!

Arrived Christmas week. Beautiful blue skies and comfortable daytime weather. Once the sun started setting, temps dropped and eventually got to around high twenties. Still fun and pretty.

Campsite was fine. Bathrooms were clean. however a group of campers were VERY noisy and drunk until 4am. I tried asking them to be quite multiple times throughout the night but they would not keep the noise down. No one from the park came out to check on the campers and see how we were doing and there is no cell service. This could have easily turned violent. So make sure you are careful at these campsites. Do not expect help from any kind of law enforcement.

Easy to access campground close to the interstate (I-10). Very helpful rangers & volunteers in visitor center. Take the walk to Cottonwood Springs and go on up to the mine.

Although we were not able to get into the more popular campgrounds we found the the Cottonwood Campground was awesome. The campground was clean and quiet and is well maintained. We took a few short hikes which offered spectacularly beautiful scenery and easy to walk well marked trails. The location enabled us to travel throughout the park with key sites all within an hour drive. Joshua Tree National Park is a must see.

Nice campground, most spaces are well distanced. Some large RVs had squeezed into sites too small for them, and their slide-outs s were obstructing the road through the campground.

Beautiful sunsets and sunrises at camp. Moon was super bright - no need for lanterns!

PRO: Roomy campsites; we pitched two tents and still had space for chairs around the fire. Convenient water supplies and clean bathrooms. Both trash cans and recycling available.
CON: Very little shade, and no vertical supports (trees/posts) to tie fabric to. Be sure to bring a pop-up shade structure.

The site and bathrooms were clean. I was able to hike to the Lost Palms Oasis right from my site, and I was able to gaze at the stars at night. It's a special place!

Very cozy campground and bushes everywhere to help block the wind. Campsite 4 was ideal since the fire ring was right next to the table. It was amazing being able to see the stars so clearly.
