Quieter and less crowded part of Joshua Tree, beautiful landscapes and amazing star gazing opportunities! Spaces between sites are roomy and campers can access the trailhead to Mastodon Peak trail within the campgrounds.

Small sites but still worked fine for our 26' motorhome. Great scenery, though need to drive about 30mi to see actual Joshua Trees. Close to a few walking trails that provided scenic views and education on the plant life and historical people of the area.

Clean sites and restrooms. Weather when we visited (just before Thanksgiving) was great. Not too cold, but chill enough to enough a fire. No bugs. Beautiful night sky. All major attractions in Joshua Tree NP are in the north part of the park so this area was relatively quiet.

a little far out of the way, but sometimes the seclusion is appreciated!

Sites were nice, but many had signs saying reserved even though no one ever showed up. FYI - Canada requires campers to call in if they are checking in late. If you dont, the site is made available for walk-ins. We know this because it happened to us. This stops people from booking a site just to have it. Their selfishness prevents many people from enjoying these campgrounds.

Well kept site. Plenty of space and also near the visitors center.

The hiking was more diverse than anticipated. Campground was calm and quiet.

We were there for only one night, but we enjoyed every minute of it. It rained overnight but during the day we were able to do some hiking. There are toilet rooms that are kept very clean. The only inconvenience was having to go back to the visitor center because our site was occupied by someone else. But the ranger was able to place us at a different site right away.
Camping here became very strategic because we were able to see almost everything in the park within one day.

Nice campground. When we arrived though there was trash left in the Firepit. We had to clean that out. The person capacity is not enforced because next to us it was 3 families and lots of kids. They even had 3 vehicles and blocked out the shared water spigot. When we told park staff they didn’t do anything about it. A bit disappointed about that. Beautiful scenery just a far drive to see the sites.

Very nice experience staying there. No hassles. Everyone gets a space which allotted while reserving the space. Just be aware of kangaroo rats, sometimes they gets really close if you are afraid of them, but they won't harm you.
