Albeit quite a ways from civilization, thats great! Great host and supper quiet! A really enjoyable stay as all NPS sites

Clean and flat campground which provides a great spot for stargazing. Very close to city if you stay multiple days and might need to do shopping. While more inside the park campgrounds are more scenery either close to Joshua trees or big rocks but they mostly dont have flashed toilets like here.

This site would have gotten five stars but there were several guests who didnt understand how to abide by the generator use hours.

Family-friendly campsite. Well maintained. Big enough for 2-3 2-person tents and only a 15min drive to the I-10 highway. There's flushing toilet and sink. The best part is they keep a bottle of hand soap there for people to use. Very thoughtful!

We really like Cottonwood Campground because its quiet and less crowded than the other campgrounds in Joshua Tree NP, but close enough to enjoy the entire park. Plus it takes reservations, which we need with our 25 trailer.

I pretty much came in in the evening and scrambled first light so I didnt really use it in the campground amenities. But I got to watch at least 21 starling satellites go by in a row the kids I could hear in the campground night or a joy everything was really nice.

Fill the fuel in your vehicle. Youll need a lot of it in order to fully enjoy this park. The best, most interesting hikes are on the Mojave Desert side, and it takes a good 35-45 minutes to reach them from Cottonwood Campground on the south side. Bring firewood to make smores.

We didnt fit well on our reserved site, and given few sites being used, we simply stayed at another site that was more level for our RV.

Campground was fine although the group of boy scouts next to us were loud. They should have been in a group camp area. The park was interesting and scenic. Bathrooms in the campground were clean. There was a little bit of confusion about checking in without an entrance station.

We had a great time at Cottonwood! It was our first time at Joshua Tree and we loved it! We usually go mountain/forest camping, but we had wanted to try desert camping. This is a great initial starting point! Clean facilities, spacious spots and beautiful surroundings, whats not to like?

Great campground in Joshua National Park. Tenters beware. Generators are allowed so the noise can be annoying at times. Bathrooms were clean. Views were beautiful.

Five stars is for clean camping spot. Five stars for wonderful star filled skies. Wasn’t so happy with other campers. RV running generator all night and other group very loud with flashlights they kept shining on other camp spots.
