This is by far my favorite campground! The creek, the green trees, the wildlife, the fishing, being surrounded by nature at the base of some of the most beautiful mountains...it's wonderful! The camp host was kind and professional. Everyone I encountered was respectful and friendly. This is a primitive campground, so bring your own water. There are vault toilets, which compared to backpacking, is a luxury!I do wish they would install coin showers by the lodge. It would be nice to have that option for longer stays while tent camping (not RV glamping). This is a great place to escape the city, the world and just relax and soak up all the nature has to offer. Close to the Big Pine Lake trailhead. Has a trout pond for fishing, and some campsites are right by the creek.

Although being in the mountains was a good experiance the rest of the adventure was purely lacksuster.
1. The camp roads were in horrible shape with VERY LARGE bumps and deep rutts, narrow and and allmost impossible to navigate, basically usless for Travel Trailers and RVs. To be quite frank I will never recomend any campsites in the state of California as everyone we visited were in deplorable shape road, facilities, and useabaility.
2. The sites were in most cases extreamly out of level in both directions making nearly impossible to level a camper and dangerous.
3. No potabale water available.
4. No dump station casing us to haul 350 lbs. of fresh water up a VERY steep mountain 2,500 feet, adding a tremendous strain to our tow viehicle not to mention hauling this extra weight down making the decent VERY DANGEROUS.
5. NO FISH IN STREAMS. THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DID NOT INFORM PEOPLE THAT THEY HAD A BACTERIAL INFESTATION IN THEIR HATCHERIES AND CONSEQUENTLY MOST STREAMS if not all AND LAKES HAVE NOT BEEN STOCKED THIS YEAR. I WANT MY MONEY BACK I INVESTED IN TWO FISHING LICENSES WHICH WERE BASICALLY USLESS AND QUITE FRANKLY IT IS FRAUD.
I will be on YouTube telling everyone to save your money and do ot go to California as their fish and game department is usless and a joke.

By the way the camp host did not have a Gulf Cart to get around in and had to use his own vehicle to get around what a crock.
