Great weather. Great spot. Only gripe is water was shutdown and needed to go back down hill for firewood.

plenty of space, big parking spot, big area for your tent setup and big spot for your table and campsire spot. one thing i noticed is the amount of rats everywhere. but as long as you lock your food youll be okay. i liekd how close it was to the trailhead, big plus

The camp steward was very helpful. Helped my jump start my car after my battery died. Thanks!

I've been camping at Big Pine Creek Campground for over 70 years. And, I've always enjoyed the area, and the fishing has generally been very good. However, over the past few years, the DFG has cut down stocking the creek to about twice a month. There are still a good number of fish to be caught, but be prepared to look for the out-of-the-way holes, and locations. Also, I've noticed that there are always a number of campsites that are tagged "reserved," and the camper has not arrived for a couple days or more. The host should open those sites, and make them available until the next reservation dates.

Our last trip to Big Pine Creek was cut short due to the closure of Inyo National Forest one day into our three day trip. However, for the one night we were able to stay, it was just as nice as ever. Only drawback was that campfires weren't allowed, so we missed that experience of sitting by a warm fire at night. In fact, according to recent National Forest info, campfires and charcoal BBQ's are not allowed at this time. Also, a current fire permit is REQUIRED to use any sort of gas powered stove, lantern or portable propane firepit.

Love this campground! Had a great time. The campsites are spaced out nicely for privacy. Facilities were clean. The creek running through it is beautiful. We saw lots of wildlife during our stay. Also great spot to stay if you plan to hike up to Big Pine Lakes.

Great campsite near Big Pine Creek trailhead. The roads were a little bumpy around the campground but our little honda civic made it there just fine. We stayed at site 23 and a short walk to the stream.
