Very nice location when temps start to cool. Bathrooms were clean considering. Far enough away from light pollution, Milky-way, nice camp spots and people were all friendly, several families with kids enjoying the outdoors.

Amazing views and great campground next the mountains. Very small site that barely fit my teardrop and telluride, but did fit

Randy, the host, keeps this place up very well. The view of Mt. Whitney from our camp site was incredible!

Loved the campsite and the views. Brett Neely has to be one of the hardest working camp hosts we have ever encountered. Singlehandedly he takes care of every detail of the job. He kept the restrooms cleaner than I've ever seen. And we've been camping for quite a long tome.

Amazing campsite - clean and quiet, much less crowded than Whitney Portal. Vault toilets are the cleanest that I've ever seen. There are no showers at the campground, but you can take a hot shower down at the hostel in town for $10. Perfect view of Mt. Whitney without the crowds, 10/10.

small campsite, most sites in the sun and very close to each other.

The campground was good and the host was very nice. Just be aware that there is lots of ants in the campground.

Good campground, appreciated the COVID measures. Host was very nice. I think we were in an RV site(?). We were much closer to RVs than we would have liked to have been.

Arrived late but site was well marked and easy to find. View from site 8 was brilliant! Bathrooms were clean. Official details say no water, but we did have a working tap near the bathroom... though I imagine thats seasonal. Host was friendly in my brief interaction.

Campsite 8 is terrible. You have 2 other campsites right next to you. Both nights with new neighbors, they have no respect for quiet hours. Additionally, there isn't any shade. Avoid this number site as well as others right by it.

We had a great time. From the Campground we were able to visit the Alabama Hills, the town of Lone Pine, Manzanar, Whitney Portal, and even drive up Horseshoe Meadow Rd up to the Cottonwood Lakes trailhead. We had campsite #8 and granted it had no shade, but we were out all day and only returned in the evening. Other campsites had direct access to Lone Pine Creek, which we walked over to and enjoyed for a bit. Our campsite was right across from the vault toilets one of which had a broken lock at the time of our visit in Sept. 2019. The facilities were fine despite that and the campground was quiet. On our last night, we had a full moon. On the following morning before sunrise, I took a walk around the campground with my dog and stumbled upon the trailhead to Whitney Portal National Recreation Trail on the west end of the campground just south of the group sites. As I looked west towards Mt. Whitney, I was dumbfounded by the sight of the huge orb like moon settling into the jagged peaks. I watched with other campers as it sank. The sight was unforgettable.
