One of the best campsites I've stayed at! The views are outstanding and close to hiking trails (we hiked the Kearsarge Pass Trail). It was quiet at night and the bathrooms were some of the cleanest I've experienced at a campsite. Dominick, the camp manager, was awesome and very helpful! And his sidekick Stanley is the best boi. Definitely recommend staying here!

Campground was very nice, bathrooms immaculate. Site 27 not suitable for a 25 trailer. Had to take a more trailer friendly site. Great views.

Nice and quiet. Some site driveways are in need of repair.

Beautiful and unexpected camp ground! My boyfriend and I broke up our drive from Lake Tahoe to San Diego by stopping at Grays Meadows for the night. Its about 10 minutes off the main road in Independence, which made us weary at first. However, once we got to the grounds we were surprised by the beautiful views and actually clean bathrooms. Its a very well maintained camp ground that felt like an oasis with a full creek in the middle of a very desolate area. I would say that if you have a trailer or camper, lower Grays is better accommodated for that. Upper was difficult to maneuver with our trailer. Besides that we will be staying again to break up long drives. Highly recommend!

Excellent campground. We fit our 9x11' tent, but just barely. Absolutely stunning views, clean bathrooms, nearby hikes. Good chance of alpenglow at sunrise too.

Our campsite was fully exposed to sun. It was 92F in a shade, so staying in sun was not an option. We decided leave at once, and found a walk-in campsite in Onion Valley campground. In spring or fall it may be better, but exposed sides are not attractive.
