It is good camp site. Really close to silver lake. Good signal coverage. Clean flush toilet. You can buy fire wood from camp host. It is really cold in late Oct. Temperature is below 32F at night so be prepared. I would suggest staying at the camp sites near the lake. There have shrubs and trees to prevent winds and water views.

We have camped at Silver Lake since the 50s, Family from afar would reconnect by camping together.

The new reservation system is horrible, we once could book a reservation for 14 days, now we have to book one night per camp site as that is all that is available, one nighters. We spent almost 2 weeks in June lake this past couple of weeks, we had to move to a new spot almost every day. The people who book a site for one or two nights ruin it for the people who plan all year for a vacation only to be ruined by those one night campers.

Why cant you designate 10 sites for those one nighters and let the 7-14 day people get the sites like we used to.

Please!

First come first serve (walk in) was perfect!

Thank you,
Cindy Hoover

Grounds very clean .. nice deer ?? experience!! Camp host ( Beverly ) was very friendly… ( bathrooms were dirty n never toilet paper ??) At a time with a virus going around , I think the bathrooms should be cleaner n sanitized better!!!
But even the rest stop on the way up to June , was very dirty … ( the one right before Lonepine) going north 395.. )
Other then that , we camp every year at Silverlake campground mostly because family loves fishing .. but this year there were too many kids playing in the water and kayaks everywhere ?? couldn’t fish anywhere!!! This lake used to be a fisherman’s dream lake but now it’s a recreation playground! ??

Great campsite with some nice hosts! The only downside is that some of the spots are right next to the road. The other spots that weren't right next to the road looked really nice though! Plus it's flushing toilets, which is a luxury camping.
