The campground and hosts were great. VERY disappointed that helicopter tours appeared to be happening every day and they took off close by and flew over the lake, disturbing peaceful kayak paddle, and Im sure the fishermen hated it too. Also blaring live music across the street in the RV park. Maybe trees should be planted on the campground near roadside for more privacy! This would help campsites that dont have any shade too!

Good time to visit this area aa the weather is warm. Afternoon showers were frequent after 2:00 pm.Many sites are overgrown with stinging nettle plants so we had about an hours work to cut it back to keep from brushing up against its leaves. Hosts tried to help with weed wacker but really a big clean out with proper equipment is needed here. Bathrooms are gross and need power washing and re painting. Showers are bad too. Old and very tired facility in a beautiful setting.

Beautiful campground with lake access directly across the campsite. Unfortunately as previously mentioned the mosquitos here were the absolute worst. Yes I had bug spray but these mosquitos were something else, currently sitting here trying not to scratch 30+ mosquitos bites.

Nice site close to the lake. As others have noted lots of folks stake claim to the lake beach access points. Most of these claims go unused for large parts of the day while other people are looking for lake access. It is a beautiful location and we enjoyed kayaking everyday.

Silver Lake has the BEST camp hosts! Mark & Betty run a tight ship. Everything is immaculately clean, the bathrooms to the camp spots! Something seriously needs to be done with Recreation.gov about reserved sites with no shows! How about implementing a 24 hour no show policy that cancels the reservation and the site gets marked as FF!!!

Beautiful lake and mountains. Most campsites are near the lake and trail head to PCT.

Campgrounds were good. Lake access was not. Campers leave their chairs, toys, EZ ups, boats etc at lake access points for days at a time. Most of the time they don't use the area. Many boaters leave their boat on the beach so people cannot use the lake. Someone even roped off an area while he boated. Across from my campsite, someone left their boat chairs and toys there for all 5 days we were there and never used the area. Someone used the boat for a couple of hours for each of 3 days. There is limited access to this side of the lake from shore.

Beautiful campground location. Surrounded by mountains, with easy access to Silver Lake at many places in the campground. Easy entry and exit. Only problem was that our site (20) was completely surrounded by nettles, so we had to be very careful moving around. Mosquitoes were in force. Some other sites closer to the road are quite exposed.
