Love the lake and all its beauty its just too bad the campgrounds have gone to hell. Dont get me wrong most of the people that work there are great. 1. The driveway in campsite Bear loop 1 is decrepit. So many chunks of asphalt have broken off its hard to get 4 wheels on it. Also its bulging up so its like going over multiple speed bumps when you back in to the campsite you paid for.2. There is no bathroom in the loop, so you have to walk 200 yards to Gull loop to use the facilities. However prepare to wait in the morning due to their only being 1 stall and 1 urinal. In the past we would just drive down to the beach and use the restrooms but now the beach area parking lot is closed until 7amwhich brings me to #3.3. We pay to camp at Oh Ridge because of the June Lake beach. Well guess what? If you want to park at the beach it now costs $10/day. In other words, even though youre paying to camp there you also have to pay for the day use area. Never heard of that. It punishes the campers as people who arent camping there pay the same amount. You are allowed to walk down there for free however many campers such as ourselves have paddle boards, kayaks, cabanas, etc and there is no way you can walk all of that down to the beachremember the beach is only reason we pay to camp there.Since the day use is now restricted, you have workers racing around in golf carts checking to make sure everyone has paid and that they dont block anyone (they wont let you wait for someone to pull out, even if your not blocking anyone). Ive been treated better by airport security waiting to pickup someone at the airport. And Im paying extra for this cluster. Most of the workers are nice and sympathetic. The lake is beautiful. The new fees for the day use area is a money grab by the government while the facilities are not being upgraded which have been long overdue.

Great place for families, beautiful beach and great for hiking from easy to harder trails. Camp host do a great job keeping the sites and facilities clean.
Many of the paved asphalt spaces where you park your RV are in poor shape and are in desperate need of some major repair/replacement. It’s been like this for a number of years and only getting worse found it. No

Not what we expected. The online map and photos made it seem we would be very close to the lake (i.e., walking distance) with some privacy from our neighbors - neither was the case. The lake is not walking distance: there are no trails or similar access, so your only option is to walk a difficult and dangerous 1/4 mile road with no shoulder to walk on and huge pickups zipping by. We ended up driving to the lake each day, which we could have done at plenty of other campgrounds. Overall, the walking situation could be much improved. I didn't feel safe letting my son walk around, there are no off-road pathways and the roads themselves have no space on the sides for walking. The separation between some of the sites is ridiculously non-existent. We got super lucky with our neighbors being considerate, as their camper trailer and dirt motorbikes were parked literally 2 feet behind our bear locker. The bathrooms, while clean, were few and far between; non-existent for the bear loop.
Overall, this is not a fault of the campground hosts and managers. They were all pleasant and doing a great job keeping the campground clean. This is a problem with the campground design: not enough bathrooms, nowhere to walk that avoids cars, no easy access to a lake that is *right there*, and no privacy between sites. We enjoyed the lake, but won't be back to the campground.
