Beware, The host that covers the two day shift when the primary host is off comes around and charges $8 per day for more than 1 vehicle per site, even though the reservation includes two vehicles. Not sure if they pocket the money or what? The host that handles 5 days a week is an outstanding host and probably wouldn't charge for extra vehicles unless it was more than two, per the reservation. There are bears there that walk thru the campsites so you have to be careful to follow all the best practices to avoid bear problems. We saw a bear 5 or 6 times in 8 days but no problems because we used the bear box and took everything out of our truck. The bear we saw is collared and walks around like nobody is there. A couple of times they sat down and started scratching like a dog. The bear walks slowly and was not aggressive. Very quiet campground with minimum generator noise.

Camp host warned us on arrival about bears and how to protect the bears and us with food safety. The campground was clean and bathrooms serviced well. The hiking trails were amazing around Mammoth.

This place is always awesome!! The hosts are always great and the facilities are always clean. I would recommend it to anyone
