Our party booked a few campsites (19, 21, 24, 28, 29, 30). All great - except for 24 which was a bit slanted and would suit a smaller vehicle, but still beautiful!Set in a forest of tall, plentiful pines (and summertime biting insects). Be prepared to keep your campsite/vehicle clean and free from temptation to Kevin the Bear and its friends. Seriously. Sites had a metal ring fire pit w/metal grate for cooking, a small, standing grill, picnic table, and large metal bear proof food storage locker. Trash is picked up frequently from the nearby dumpsters/recycling bins. Several spigots to fill up water are available. FYI: For a small fee, there is a RV dump station in town at the sanitation dept. Also fresh water fill at that county spot. A reviewer mentioned motocross during June/July. Mammoth Motocross is a large race drawing in the top MX racers, mostly Western U.S. riders, that have qualified to race it. It is an event that feeds the local economy during their offseason. Look it up if booking in the summer. Its weather dependent. So if the snow hasnt melted on the track, it may be pushed to July or August. Good idea, in general, to look up local events beforehand. Especially if youre sensitive to outdoor sporting event sounds. Tony & Debbie are the best camp hosts ever! They run a tight ship, but arent intrusive, are super friendly, fun, and offer firewood for sale, too! Great experience! ATT: We had 1 bar of service, if that. Not having WiFi and such was a bummer, but also a blessing as we spent more time offline. Very little ATT cell service in most of the Mammoth area for us.
