Location is great... good cell connection (which was unexpected!), flush toilets, potable water, lots of shade. It's very close to town but you are just far enough away to feel isolated. Unfortunately we had some loud campers in our vicinity which was annoying, especially since they got loud starting around 630am (I think they were there for a group event). Otherwise it's a great place to camp in Mammoth and I will go again.

The location is great considering all of the activites available including skiing in big snow years. The hosts are excellent as always. Both New and Old Shady are unique in that loops are well separated and would provide for non generator areas. Sadly there is no such thing, therefore Shady gets only a fair rating.

I had a great time at the New Shady Rest Campground. I was there for the 3rd week of June 2023. The camp host and other employees were very friendly, professional and helpful. The restrooms were always clean.
