We were in Campsite 63. The site was clean and very nicey shaded. The campground hosts were amazing and very helpful. The bathrooms are kept clean and well maintained. There is water there if you need it for your site or camper/motorhome to fill your tank. We went there to fish and unfortunatley there are little to no fish in those lakes. Lake Mary which is above Twin Lakes campground is the place to catch fish. There is a shuttle you can catch at the lodge that goes into Mammoth and it's free. We took it one day to walk around the town. All in all it's a great place to camp and hike. Cell service was at 1 bar on Verizon and we could call out. Internet is very slim and we could only use SMS to text. I would stay there again and the watherfall is just spectactular.

always the best time at Twin Lakes! So peaceful, so beautiful. Awesome experience with camp hosts and general store employees. Serious food for my soul in this gem of a campground.

Very nice campground -- and our site (063) was spacious with nice shade. Not really private but almost all the sites in the campground are open like that. Things to consider: If you rely heavily on solar, you probably should pick another site -- I was moving our solar panel around every 30 minutes. Virtually zero cell service so don't plan on relying on that. Also, we visited in early October a couple weeks before they closed for the season and even though it was quite warm in Bishop, it was too cold to really enjoy camping at such high elevation due to the low temperatures (high of about 60, lows in the 30s). We ended up leaving early because the camp host informed us that it was going to get down to 18 degrees the next evening. But if you came here in August/early September it is probably ideal.Other campgrounds in the area are Coldwater and Lake George, which are at even higher elevation. We drove through both -- Coldwater was huge but very stony and in need of some TLC (crumbling asphalt, steep/short RV pads). Lake George was very small but with beautiful views. But is even higher than Coldwater with a persistent cold wind off the lake.

We have been enjoying the Twin Lakes Mammoth, CA campground for many years on summer vacation time. The campground host is good to speak with if they are needed. The campsites are kept clean as well as the restrooms. A beautiful area to stay and fish.
