beautiful location. site 26 and others on that side are very private. hosts were friendly, welcoming and informative. bring what ya need tho cause you'll need to take out a loan for anything from the store. almost $50 for two six packs and a bag of ice. i understand making a profit, but then there is just plain greed. oh, and $8 showers. i rinsed in the lake, yea, it was cold.

Twin Lakes was a very scenic area with a beautiful waterfall nearby. If you are camping near the lake, there are a ton of mosquitoes and we were swarmed at all times, so recommend staying at a campsite farther away. Camp host was helpful and sold firewood for $9 a bundle. Twin Lakes is 10 minutes from town and is bikeable but up a large hill.We were at campsite 26 and it was not great (pic on website is not the same campsite). It's smaller than all the other campsites and can realistically only fit 2 cars with 2-4 people comfortably. They put mulch over muddy ground and it feels like you're in a bog, the ground is really uneven. You're next to the lake, but you can't see it and mosquitoes were atrocious. Try to stay at a different site.

The campground itself is amazing, you can rent kayaks to kayak twin lakes up to the waterfall. The water is so clear with cool critters around. They have a camp shop that has like everything you could ever need. It has a shower in it thats only open from like 7am-6pm and it charges you like $8. There are bathrooms around with flushing toilets and water filling stations. Tons of bugs if your camp spot is by the water, which this one was lol. Overall was close to town and it was a nice camp ground.

If you have a bike bring it! There are so many beautiful bike trails made to get you from your campsite to different parts of Mammoth. It's very easy to take those trails to different lakes or places. My favorite lake was Convict Lake (about 12 minutes driving). There are many restaurants and grocery stores 5 minutes from the campsite.
