Not the greatest location - you will be close to the road and walking area with lots of people. We stayed at site #6. Though toilets are clean and shop is just right nearby, but if you want privacy and feeling that you're along with the nature - pick Coldwater Campground or sites from the opposite side of the river.

Love this campground! Easy access to the town of Mammoth Lakes (10 min drive), but you feel like a million miles away from civilization. Beautiful views, plenty of bathrooms with flushable toilets, and on-site boat rentals. Since I was traveling with just my seven year old son, the on-site general store was great. They are stocked with pretty much everything, including ice and firewood. They have hot showers available for $8/person, which is a little pricey, but they are cleaned after every use and are set up well, with plenty of room to change clothes. We had site number 6, which had a nice lake and mountain view, but with easy access to the general store and two bathroom houses. Note: the bathroom sinks have cold water only and they do not provide soap or paper towels, so bring your own. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly and were very nice, considering they are campground bathrooms.Cell service: I have ATT and generally had no service inside the campground. However, I was able to get service walking over to the adjacent Tamarack Lodge area.BEAR COUNTRY. Definitely keep all food locked up in the provided bear box. One of our neighbors left their cooler unattended (bears know to look for coolers) and we watched a black bear open the cooler and take some food out of it.
