We started our week long park hop with Convict Lake, less than an hour outside of Yosemite's beautiful Tioga Pass entrance. The location was perfect and the views were amazing. We met many locals who visit to fish, daily. The water was crystal clear and the leaves were just yellowing. Thr hike around the lake is fairly easy and worth the work. We watched a beautiful sunset and sunrise reflect on the mountain. We spotted a herd of mule deer on the ridge at sunrise. Perfect way to start the day. The bathrooms were very clean and the host was friendly and helpful. We weren't there long enough to enjoy the boat rentals, but hope to return in the future. It is a must do if you're traveling up 395. Don't miss the cute town of Lee Vining. Mammoth Lakes ski area is less than 15 minutes away.

Convict Lake itself is a true gem! A small, clear lake surrounded by layers of mountains. There is a great trail that goes around the lake, for a safe and pretty hike. The trail is well used, but not overrun with people. We did not eat at the local restaurant but continually heard raves about it. Our campsite was incredibly clean! It had a new picnic table, not a piece of trash in sight. When a site was vacated, the camp host (ranger?) was there within minutes, preparing it for the next user. The roads within the park were smooth, but some campsites had cracked and uneven asphalt pads, so sites should be carefully researched.

This campground was beautiful! The bathrooms were generally clean and accessible, and the grounds were well maintained. There was a lot of wildlife and really nice views. Some sites were definitely bigger than others, and the views ranged from site to site, but overall no complaints!

This is a terrific campground. Clean and well cared for. The store is close by if you forgot anything. Campground hosts are cruising the campground all day so if you need something you can find someone to help easily. The lake is beautiful, not to big, not to small with enough fish biting to make fishing exciting. We will definitely be back.

The sites are reasonably private and the nearby creek drowns out most of your neighbors noise. Hot showers are available. There is also an excellent (though expensive) restaurant within walking distance.
