Family had a great week fishing at the lake and sleeping overnight in the campground. Restroom facilities were kept clean in campground. Only negative would not be the campground but the lakeside area which is becoming more and more a party lake and not a fisherman's retreat with groups of people splashing and playing in the lake (disturbing fishing) as well as some houseboats not following no-wake rules and going full speed across lake causing large water wakes by shore. Also, parking rules are not enforced at all by forest service so folks just park how ever they want and are never cited for egregious parking violations.

The lake is just too beautiful unfortunately the weather wasn't great but what can you do right? That's camping. I'm not sure who's cleaning the bathrooms but wow...clean every time I went, do bring you're own hand soap though. Here's the bad, camp site 011 layout. There's plenty of space in the shrubs surrounding the site that could have been cleared so not sure why they didn't do that. First of all there's stairs to enter the site so be carful at night when loading and unloading your gear. Second, the site is it's self is pretty small already and to make it worse it's split between to separate levels. put lights on the steps or someone will trip over these steps as someone did in our group. The site is SO small that we could barely fit the fire ring, picnic bench, our cooking table and (3) 10x8 tents. Site 11 isn't even the most awkward camp site. There's one in the # 20's that had a full flight of stairs and an even smaller camp clearing. Please study the image of the camp site if your camping with more than (2) tents.

Beautiful campground. Very spectacular views. Hike mostly around the lake was stunning with brilliant fall colors and crystal blue waters. Could not hike the way around. As the creek st the west end was flowing pretty heavily and was wide. But it was still a 3 mile out and back. We camped at #11 which was a pull thru. We had a 23 sprinter van. It was a little tight as there was a curve in the pad. Dont park anything longer. We would return. A very nice scenic spot

This is a beautiful part of Calyfornia and Convict Lake area does not disappoint. The lake is great and you have near access to some of the best hiking in the world! Plus several hot springs within a short drive to soak in after those hikes. I've also never seen a campground crew work so hard to maintain a campground anywhere (they even rake your site before you arrive and as a tent camper, that is greatly appreciated). The only drawback to this campground is lack of shade so make sure you bring a shade structure as it can get toasty warm in the middle/late part of the day. Definitely one of the best campgrounds out there!

The location it's perfect. Next to Convict lake, 15 min away from hot spring waters and 20 minutes away from Mammoth lakes. My only problem was that I stayed at site #11 and it has stairs. I sprained my both ankles and my sister her left ankle as well. That happened during the day and with shoes.

Convict lake is very beautiful lake. Crystal clear water, with a rocky beach. The camp ground is nice and kept very clean. Bathrooms are flush toilets and always kept clean and stocked. The lake store is very nice and convenient. No showers at the camp ground but they do have pay showers by the store and resort.
