we had lots of deer around camp even a bear ! didnt see it but definitely left prints the only down side are the showers !! have to drive to the resort & they only have 2

Our campsite had beautiful views of the mountain and lake, and we saw deer every evening. The bathrooms were clean as well. The only negative aspect of this particular campsite was that there was no shade at all.

The campsite was very close to the lake. The view of the mountain was spectacular. Restroom and water source was also close by. The added surprise was seeing so many Mule Deer up close. One crossed our path and stopped and stared at us for more than a few minutes before moving on. One was eating the leaves on a tree and continued doing so even with us watching. The store was a short walk also. I wish I could have fished on the Marina Pier but found many places to do so. Being able to have a campfire in the evenings was a plus. The space was large enough to set up both our tent and al arge canopy for shade. The picnic table was a plus. The storage area for food was extra large. The paved driveway was good. At night, it was very peaceful. When we left, we were able to visit Mamouth Village/ski lifts/Mary Lake/Twin Lakes/etc on our way back. The price for the 3 nights was reasonable. The rentals for kayaks was a little high for the limited time frame. We plan on coming back again.

Convict lake is beautiful. The two campsites we got were okay. One of them had large rocks sticking out of the ground and we were unable to dig them up. This mad tent camping very uncomfortable. One of the camp hosts (older gentlemen) was awesome and helped us out a lot. The other camp host (much younger) did not seem to pleased with questions we had, almost like we were bothering him. If you are going to fish and you have several people in your group get out there early if the weather is nice. If you do not get there early you will lose spots to set up.There were a lot of deer that came into the campgrounds. If you were going to fish take quite gear has the fish are smaller. The weather hit us pretty hard our last two days and we left early. It got cold and very very very windy. I believe gusts of 50 miles an hour. My family will go up there again but will have to wait until my youngest is a little bit older due to the elevation change.

great campground! not all sites are equal.. so use the photos to choose wisely. plenty of clean bathrooms with flush toilets, sinks with running water, mirror, tp. Spicket with water available outside each bathroom house Dumpsters and small container aluminum/plastic recycling. Bear locker. Didnt see any bears or cougars.. Lots of deer, lizards. Expensive showers available behind the resort store, purchase tokens during store hours. $5 for 6 minutes.

Camp spot very good, views awesome, but very windy made cooking outside impossible. Have camped there many times before, but with good weather.
