We had a great time hiking, fishing, and hanging out. My daughter even celebrated her birthday there. We ended up with three sites, one reserved in advance, and two more we were able to get on a first-come, first-served basis on a Sunday. The camp hosts are some of the most genuine, good-hearted people you could ever meet. We will always go back to Convict Lake, it always feels like home

Campground is great, Sierras are beautiful, especially in October with the leaves all turning. Dennis, the campground manager and Jeffrey. The other manager are great. Campground is clean and well managed.

It had been a few years since we had last camped there. We found the campground to be very well kept and the staff was very helpful. The fall season views were awesome with many dear roaming throughout the campground all day. We arrived on a Sunday and the campground was very quiet, even with the camp nearly full. We were extremely disappointed Tuesday evening when the tranquil peace was destroyed by the horrible loud DJ music coming from the Convict Lake Resort across the road from the campground. We had to stay inside the RV just to cut down the sound level. An evening outdoors was out of the question.The next day I spoke with the camp host and asked if it happens very often? He said that midweek was an exception, but it happens most every weekend. The extremely loud music is from wedding receptions at the resort. I dont understand how the Inyo National Forest can allow this to happen on land that they lease to the resort right next to a campground. If I wanted that kind of camping experience, I would have gone to Burning Man instead. We are not sure if we will ever return to Convict Lake Campground again.

Clean, organized campground. The only bad thing is that the Convict Lake Resort, which is right across the road, has large functions in a huge outside tent and there is loud music late into the night. Kind of disturbing when one of the nice things about camping is the quiet atmosphere.

Ive been going to convict lake for over 20yrs. This has always been one of the top trout lakes in the Sierra. Now I would have to say not so much! The campground was clean. The bathrooms where a mess! Dirty with trash, old clothes and god knows what else on the floor. Empty beer cans all in the brush around our campsite. Loud campers past quite time playing music and drinking around their fire. There was people snorkeling in the lake and kids jumping off their rented pontoon boat into the lake. Just a lot of stuff that has never happened at convict lake. Lack of employees working for the lake for the amount of people visiting the lake might be part of it. But if this is the way things are going to be run in the campground and at the lake. I will not be back to waste my money! And that is sad! My favorite place is now so commercialized that it seems its all about the money for who is running both! Sad sad sad! Hope someone reads this that cares about it! If not my suggestion would be to avoid the place if you are looking to relax and catch some fish!
