Stumbled across this campground while researching Mammoth. We have a 31 ft fifth wheel and only a few spots were suitable for us but the site we selected (61) was great. Getting in and out of the campground was tight but backing into the site was no issue. Make sure you do your research if you're in a larger rig. Great hiking right from the campground and we'd thought we'd have access to Lake Mary but that was not the case as we had to drive and park along the shore to launch kayak and SUPs. Mosquitos were aggressive so be sure to bring sufficient amounts of bug spray. Just a few minutes from Mammoth and while we had the ability to make and receive phone calls, emails and texts were sparse. We'll be back.

Stayed in site 61 and I must say our camp hosts Kathy and Keith were both awesome and helped to make our trip a wonderful lifetime memory. On our arrival, the site was clean and after pulling in, Kathy stopped by to welcome us and to fill us in on the bear activity in the area. We could pretty much count on seeing a bear or 2 each day including visits in the camp sites. Being prepared for this helped to make it a pleasant and safe experience. The bathrooms were cleaned at least twice a day which was much appreciated. We can't wait to go back to enjoy this amazing place. A couple of things to mention, T-Mobile cell phone reception was good as opposed to other major networks. This is high elevation camping (~9,000 ft. elevation), so it can get chilly at night, even in the middle of summer. Enjoy, and please practice "leave no trace" so future generations can have this same wonderful experience!
