It's a National Park, close to Indiana Dunes and half the price for All Access Pass Holderd. I stayed in the Douglas Loop and at 30', I was the largest rig there. Lots of tents and smaller trailers. If you need longer, I suggest the Mather Loop. They are identical in set up. Trees, spaced apart, asphalt roads and sites were level. Shower House was excellent, clean, hot water, good pressure but busy. They have a campers sink for washing dishes and a dump station.

It was a nice area, gorgeous colors. Kind of loud with traffic driving by and the train that went through like 4 times in 1 night.

Overall the trip was good. The areas for camp sites are large. It was wonderful to have bathrooms and showers. Only two negatives for the area. First, the mosquitos are AWFUL. Yup, nothing you can do about that. We camp often and this was brutal. We had 2 thermos brand mosquito shields running at all times, sprayed Eucalyptus, wore Deep Woods off and had a fire going. It was hard to be outside. Second, the area they call a "kids discover zone" was pretty lame. They talked it up and there was nothing to it. Other than that, it was fun. Would go again despite.

There was confusion as to where I was camping. I thought I was staying at the same location I stayed at in August.
I spent hours back and fourth from location to another. In August I had an outstanding location, but in September I was on the woods in the dark and very remote.
I Knowingly, would never have decided to stay where I stayed.

Be sure to walk or bike along Lakefront.

Dunewood Campground hosts more that 60 campsites, most of which you can park at and some which are a short walk from the parking lot. The campground is nicely wooded with sites spaced apart from each other. It is in a great location with Lake Michigan beaches just over a mile away.
