Nice place to camp for tents, small trailers, and small motorhomes (Class C). Goblin & Grocer, just outside the campground is a wonderful place to dine, as are many places in Michigan City. We loved hitting the huge Outlet Mall in Michigan City (closest Stsrbucks). The beaches are fun and the sunsets beautiful on clear evenings.

The campsite was nice, but we expected to be closer to the bathroom based on the map. It looked like there was a bathroom facility next to our site (on the map) and that it had been removed relatively recently.

Overall my wife and I greatly enjoyed our long weekend at Dunewood. The mosquitoes were bad, but that's a given for the area and the time of year. Nothing that some repellent couldn't handle. The campground was quite and peaceful...loved hearing the birds and the trains (I love trains). Campground was convenient to the parks attractions and trails. Convenience store & gas station nearby for the essentials. Campground personnel were courteous and helpful. Only criticism is that the showers could maybe have been cleaned a bit more often, but they were quite serviceable. We plan to return and stay the week next time.

Brush and trees radically trimmed, so not much privacy.

5 stars! Best national park campground Ive stayed in. Plenty of space between campsites, quiet, and cleanest toilets anywhere weve camped. Plus: Free warm water showers! Perfect for after the beach and dune climbing. Bugs not bad in mid September but could be more formidable in this forested site.

Dunewood Campground is a very nice campground and close to a lot of the Indiana Dunes National/State Park(s). The sites are large with plenty of room to stretch out with camp chairs.
The one negative I had was purely because we have Class A RV and very tall. Going in/out of the park and to the dump station, I was constantly dodging branches that would hit things on our roof or the sides of the RV. I saw one couple struggle with getting their Class A rig into a spot and getting a large branch out of the way so it wouldn't cause damage to their rig. Again, this complaint is only for large, tall RVs. Shorter RVs and tenters will have no problems.
