Great campground and awesome beach and sand dunes. We love coming here, and the wood fired pizza truck just outside the campground doesnt hurt. Nice bathroom/shower facilities and the camping host couldnt be any nicer.

Ive been coming here for years and it never gets old. Going to the beach, hiking in the great swamp trail, taking in the architecture of the worlds fair homes and others its an amazing getaway from city life. Its always a pleasure to stay at Dunewood and it was a great choice for my first solo camping trip. For someone who doesnt drive, it was really a godsend that I could get here and still find somewhere to camp via public transportation (South Shore Line). While one day is not enough to enjoy the Dunes, it was still a really unique experience to be able to do this without a car. Im very happy I did this.

The site and bathrooms were very clean and nicely kept. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable about the different hikes and beaches of the park. Gas station, gift shop, and restaurant right outside of the campground which provided lots of camping gear , ice, and firewood. Overall a very nice stay!

Clean and quiet. Nice place to stay. Centrally located to all things in the park and surrounding area. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely walk-in sites. Since most of the campground had been reserved by bicyclists, it was so quiet and relaxing.

really beautiful campground! great, friendly, helpful staff. we stayed on one of the walk-in sites (55-60s) and so glad i did, still an easy walk to my car and to the bathroom from there, but it feels a little more like you’re in the woods than being in one of the RV spots. it’s about a mile and a half to the beach from there, so i recommend driving rather than walking, but great location with cute, small-town amenities nearby while also being out in nature. loved my stay!!

It took us a minute to find our campsite but it was a great location. Loved not being right on the road but close enough to the restrooms. It was quiet and so beautiful!
